PROCESS OF EVALUATION AND ACCREDITATION OF

EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS

The new technologies and their impact on education represent a great challenge for
educators in the knowledge society. In this revolution process of knowledge and
technology, professionals act as a vital role, especially professionals in education, who
precisely because of the demands of the functions they perform and the social space they
represent as figures responsible for transmission of knowledge during the Teaching Learning process, have the challenge of taking the forefront of educational development.

This new era we are living has enabled educational institutions become aware of
the urgent need to improve the quality of education they are providing. This is the reason,
for the creation of an institute which accreditates and certifies the good performance of
schools.

The Peruvian Institute of Evaluation, Accreditation and Quality Assurance of

Basic Education (IPEBA), organ operator of SINEACE, is in charge of defining the
criteria, standards and indicators to ensure, in Educational Institutions of Basic Education
and Technical-Productive, public and private, the optimal levels of educational quality and
to encourage measures required for improvement.

It also fosters that educational

communities, principals, teachers, parents and students are informed about the benefits of
evaluation and accreditation.

For greater impact on the quality of education of students five main factors are
considered: Institutional administrators, teaching performance, working together with
families and the community, infrastructure and learning resources and use of information
to improve student training.

Taking all the mentioned into account, we should lead our efforts towards
achieving higher levels of academic and professional development that advances our
educational quality for the benefit of our local, regional and national community.

The educational goals of Peru as a country and our city can only be achieved when
education is priority for convergent actions and these actions are based on an
understanding of the processes that enable Educational Institution to improve.

In my opinion, as a teacher in a private and kinder garden school and graduate

from the National University of Cajamarca, we need to be aware of the importance of
giving and receiving an education of quality in all our country and its regions.

The future of our city, our country and the world depends on our children and high
school students will be given the best instructions. Using the framework of quality in our
schools suggested by the IPEBA, we can design roadmaps for continuous improvement.
When educators understand what continuous improvement is all about, they gain
confidence that they can share and alter the nature of their schools. Change is possible!
