I SEE YOU: Module Guide

Module 4: Ability to take initiative


Module Objectives:
Students will be able to:
1. To understand the value of taking risk in the entrepreneurial world.
2. To understand the initiative taking process.
3. To know the importance of personal initiative and active performance in
todays word.
This will be accomplished by working through the following table of contents:
1. Defining initiative.
2. Qualities of succesfull entrepreneurs
3. How to develop your initiative

The order of activities to achieve this, it will be the following:

3. TASK: 32. Upload a document.


After watching the Video. 5.1. Upload a pdf document explaining
what Cecilia Adabie means when she said that the greatest risk in our
world it is to not take a risk.
(min. 200 words).

4. TASK: 33. Upload a document.

Develop a 1500 word essay to answer the following questions.

What is the importance of personal initiative and active


performance in todays entrepreneurship word?
What are the factors involved in the development of the ability to
take initiative?

5. Read and follow the document. Ability to take initiative text

6. TASK 34: Writing in forum

1 hour
Discusses an experience you know of an ambitious entrepreneur who has
been successful. (200 words)
(Your example can not been given before in the forum)

7. TASK 35: Writing in forum


Check out the Forbes' List of the Top 30 Social Entrepreneurs paying attention to
their profiles and web sites of their companies. After that explains what you observe
in common between most of them.

If your observation is already exposed in the Forum, looking for another one or
explains why you agree with your partner (in both you must contribute something
new). Do not forget to name the partners who proposed the observation.

TAKS 36: Writing in forum

Take the initiative: Check out the 17 example of social entrepreneurship in the
following link

You should choose a case from the 17 to analyse. The analysis must be by team
between 6 to 8 students.

How to form the team?

Read the 17 examples and choose the case.


Take the initiative to go to the Forum and write your name and the case
chosen in one of the available threads (1 to 17) of the forum. If your
favourite case it is already chosen, introduce yourself and apply to this team
to be accepted in (No more than 8 student per team).
Ones you decide that your team is close (6 to 8 student) someone on the
team must write a message notice that the group is closed and naming the
components.

To connect the initiative taken skills with the case chosen.


To identify the similarities and differences of the profile and roll of the
entrepreneur chosen with the standard profile of a successful entrepreneur
who take initiative (it is necessary to read and watch available material in
module 5).
3. To reflect on the work done in the team. Who have shown the biggest
initiative for this task?
IMPORTANT:

Once the team is close, every team member must write at least three times
in their team forum.

The entire team work must be done in the forum. Once finished the time
available to write on the forum, each student must raise individually a
summary document of the foregoing by the team in forum (not an
individual ideas documents), with no major extension of a sheet. This
document must answer to the three points we expect from the analysis.
