B.o.B. was the producer of Am I a Psycho which was surprising to me. B.o.B.
brought experience and marketing power to the table when helping create this
music video. I think the music and the video work perfectly together because the
artists are wondering if they are Psychos, while the video is them in a dark,
abandoned house or outside the creepy house with a weapon used in horror
films. The video is similar to a classic horror film and each of the artists in the
video are dressed up and playing different horror characters. The horror type
video supports the psychotic lyrics that is being played. As I briefly described
early, the video is dark and foggy, while the artist are killer type and just crazy
looking when they sing their lyrics. They are wearing different costumes from
killers in different movies. I am not sure how important this video is, but maybe
for some people this could be a reality check and I would recommend this video
to other people because it is entertaining and very catchy.
2.) Ill Mind of Hopsin 7 By Hospin
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QBsA2ETp7JA
In this song, Hospin produced his own music video and I feel he brings a unique
style of filming because it his own. I think this video works because it shows
himself out in the middle of know where and in his song he is confused with life,
with his religion, with his own government. The video is simple and beautiful in a
way because even though he is all alone out there, the world we live in is a
beautiful place so maybe that can bring him some peace. The video is him out in
some sahara looking place with mountains surrounding him and him on the
ground with thoughts on live running through his mind. This video is important
because it shows someone going through this certain kind of struggle and
viewers might be going through the same/similar thing in their own life. I would
recommend this to certain people not everyone because I think older people
might think he is crazy/weird but a younger audience might know what he is
talking about. I would ask for a discussion topic, Do you think his
problems/thoughts pointless and stupid, or does he make a point?
The producers Deezle and Jim Jonsin wanted a sexy and luxury video to portray
Lil Waynes theme to his song. They wanted it to seem like Lil Wayne and his
friends got more girls then they know what to do with. The music works with the
video because the lyrics are referring to sexual behavior towards females and the
video has more than enough females. The music is all about what he wants to do
with a female and in the video he and everyone else is dressed up going to and
dancing at a big house party. This video is the luxury life where you have the
money and the girls; ideal for any man. The lighting is at times dark, then other
time light, then party lights (strobe and other colorful lighting). It wasnt a video
that you had to see to understand the lyrics, but it just made it look like he could
pick any girl he wanted. I wouldnt recommend this because it is sexist in
symbolize females as an object; not all viewers would enjoy this video. I would
have to ask for a discussion point, Why do rappers make it seem like to the
audience that they live the perfect, luxury life?
of liquor just dancing having a good time. It works cause it is a relatively new
song for Kendrick and it shows his skills as an artist and his ability to express
himself in his videos. I think the genre is supported in the videos in how street
it is with Kendricks personal touch. The video is dark for the most part with
Kendrick rapping with liquor in most scenes and sexy females in other scenes.
The video is important because it shows Kendrick sitting in rooms by himself,
struggling or contemplating his decision. Raps how when he was younger, he
wanted to fit in with the popular, that was my problem. It is important cause it
showed how fitting with the popular isnt what your life should be about; being
alone and thinking about your life is healthy. I would show this video to others
and would ask, Why do you think he is sitting alone in rooms, instead of getting
drunk at a party with other people?
psychedelic video that supported the lyrics and works because it was fun and
cool to watch with a catchy rap. It had artists mirrored in and out of special
effects, featuring a kaleidoscope and being changed into negative. It was first
shot in a massive house then at a massive pool party, accompanied by beautiful
women. The video is important because it shows the psychedelic nature of the
lyrics and really flows well with the beat of the music. I would recommend this
video to others because of the creativity and flow of the music with the video.
They question I would ask is Why do you think they included other artists in the
video who didnt sing? Schoolboy Q mentioned how he made a video before this
one and didnt like it so he started again and made this masterpiece.

10.) THat Part By SchoolBoy Q
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uQ_DHRI-Xp0
The Producers include West, Cardo, Yung Exclusive and Cubeatz to create this
creative video. The video flows really well with this song because in slow parts
the video is slower and calm. When they are excited in the song the video is
quicker and changes scenes faster. It works well because it emphasizes the lyrics
and the flow of the song more so then if you were just listening to it. The video is
dark is some situations and like is others, including Schoolboy Q dancing with his
boys and other scenes where its him surrounded by females. He is wearing
normal clothes for the entire video, white shirt with jeans or shorts. The video is
important for it flows strongly with the music and makes the music a lot better to
listen to. I would recommend the video to someone for a makes the song more
fun to listen to. I would ask Why did he have the faces of his friends blurred
out?
because at no time was there a cellphone to call somebody for this was the
purpose of making the song. Drake referenced with his hands a cellphone very
quickly, but that was it. The rest was him dancing in these beautiful, lightly
lighted rooms of neon.
12.) Hold On, We Are Going Home By Drake
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GxgqpCdOKak
Another song by the artist Drake and this one is titled, Hold On, We Are Going
Home. The song was in the album Nothing Was the Same, which came out in
2013. The record companys include OVO Sound, Young Money, Cash Money and
Republic Records. The video was directed by Bill Pope and was a interesting video
for it extends much longer than the actual song because it is telling a story. It is
the typical store of Drakes girl gets kidnapped, so Drake and his boys go after
her to save the day. They go through gun-fire and many deaths before Drake
ends up saving the day and getting his girl back. The video does work with the
lyrics for he tells his girl hold on for he wants to bring her back home.
13.) Show Me By Kid Ink
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xKkb13IU_DE
The song Show Me is sung by a hip hop artist named Kid Ink. The lead single
came from his second album, My Own Lane in 2013. The record company
included Alumni Music Group, 88 Classic and RCA Records. The catching singing
Chris Brown not only featured in the song but also directed the video. The video
takes place at Kid Inks place with dark lighting, drinking, smoking and lots and
lots of dancing girls. The video stereo is very stereo typical with the guy to girl
ratio being about 1 guy to every 8-10 girls. This is; however, most of every guys
ideal party, which in-it-of-itself is the problem we continue to deal with in todays
culture/society.
14.) Loyal By Chris Brown
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JXRN_LkCa_o
The song Loyal is sung by an R&B singer named Chris Brown, featuring Lil
Wayne and Tyga. The song was released in 2014 with the album titled X. The
song was recorded by RCA Records and was directed by Chris Brown himself with
Courtney Walter. This song and video is very stereo typical with men stealing
girls from other men and classifying women as objects instead of independent
people. The video included a lot of choreographed dances with Chris Brown, who
is one of the better if not the best dancer out of all hip-hop and R&B artists out
there today. The song sponsored the X album in Chris Brown parts of the video
and in sponsored Lil Waynes brand called Trukfit at his part of the song.
15.) Wishing By DJ Drama
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JXRN_LkCa_o
The song Wishing was produced and sung by DJ Drama. The song came out in
the album Quality Street Music 2 in 2016. The Record Companys that took part
in this song were eOne Music, Aphilliates Records and Powerhouse Productions.
The stereotypical video was directed by Eayyon ONeal, and I say stereotypical
video because of it this video and song talks about how these men want to have
sex with all the hot females that were put in the video. The men were
committing the crimes and being put into jail and all the police officers/detectives
were females showing cleavage(something that would never happen with a real
female official/detective). The men were able to smooth talk these women into
having sex with them.
16.) Little More By Chris Brown
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IajZTuxdv3Q
The next song I am choosing is by Chris Brown and called Little More. This song
came out in 2015 with the album titled Royalty. The record company was RCA
and the video was directed by Chris Brown himself. The video starts with Chris
partying the night away and getting really drunk. The next thing he realizes is
him waking up to a little girl looking at him in his bedroom. He was very confused
at first, but his confusion turns into love and compassion. The rest of the video
shows them playing, eating and doing all sorts of fun little things.
17.) Dont Judge Me By Chris Brown
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z29nI8RQV0U
The next song I have chosen on my top 20 list is another one by Chris Brown
titled Dont Judge Me. The song is in his Furtune album that came out in
2012. This is another RCA record Company production and the video was directed
by Colin Tilley and Chris Brown. The video has a powerful story to tell that shows
a man (Chris Brown) doing one of the most courageous acts you can do for the
world. It shows Chris Brown giving up his life to save the world and people he
loves by destroying the alien ship that was trying to ruin it all.
18.) Shouldve Kissed You By Chris Brown
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8iR6JgODHts
The next song I chose is another hit song by Chris Brown called Shouldve
Kissed You. The album title to this song is called F.A.M.E. which came out in
2011. The video was directed by Chris Brown, Team Breezy and Courtney Walter
while the song was released by Jive Company. The music video has Chris singing
on a beach just thinking and contemplating over how he should have kissed her.
It is a very beautiful video with a sunset and him walking along the beach
thinking about this girl. It is a romantic song and video that people can
appreciate and think about a loved one and have or almost had.
19.) Fire on the Horizon By Stick Figure
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LXQHmVVU8Cw
This next song I chose is a different genre that I have recently gotten more and
more interested in. The song is titled Fire on the Horizon by the group Stick
Figure, Scott Woodruff being the singer/song writer. The album is titled, Set In
Stone and the song was released in 2015. The is with Bulldog Media and has
been for years. The video is a simple cut clip where they are just walking through
the woods and seemingly to be at peace with the world and with themselves. The
world can be a very corrupt place and they are able to calm the situation down
and bring peace to the people who listen to there music. There is slow motion
parts with smoke and relatively bright lighting. There is a part with Scott singing
in the studio with his instrument, the rest of the time they are wondering through
the forest.
20.) Sound of the Sea By Stick Figure
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UL6GEX47Nk8
The last, but certainly not least video I chose is Sound of the Sea again by Stick
Figure and Scott Woodruff. This song is on the same album titled, Set In Stone
in 2015. They are still with Bulldog Media when creating this song. The video is a
beautiful piece with slow motion videos of Scott and other band members
walking in the woods then cutting to clouds flowing by with a rainbow filter
putting all sorts of colors in the picture. It works perfectly with the song because
it wants you to think about the beauty in this world instead of the all the bad
things. Great message for a pretty video.
