He had brothers and sisters, He would have had chores and responsibilities. He would have played with other children and He went to school. His clothes did not look like yours. He did not have jeans and T-shirts. He wore a tunic with a robe over top to keep warm and on His feet He wore sandals. He would go to school at the local synagogue where a Rabbi (teacher) would teach Him the laws of Moses and the scriptures. He would probably sit on the floor. He had to learn to read and write. It has images or words on each of four sides. This top is used to play a game. This was a popular game in Jewish homes. You can find a cute song about the dreidel at www.LearningStationMusic.com You need a dreidel (a Jewish spinning top. See instructions for making one.) Game pieces; (pennies, or nuts, raisins, cheerios) ‘Any number of people can play. Each player begins with an equal number of game pieces. At the beginning of each round, each player must put one game piece into the center “pot.” Each time the “pot” is empty or has only one piece, each player must add one piece. ‘At your turn, you spin the dreidel then do what it says.
