Qs = A U (To Ti)
Where:
Qs = heat gain by transmission
U = overall heat-transfer coefficient of the surface
A = area of the surface
T = dry-bulb temperature difference across the surface ( To Ti)
Note: for the inside wall and inside glass, the value of outside dry bulb temperature will be lesser than the
design conditions outside dry bulb temperature and it was confirmed by Engr. Benjamin V.D. Estrellado Jr.
The designers decided that To for the inside wall will be equal to 27 oC
Note: pathway was excluded in air-conditioning

Source of formula (Refrigeration and Air Conditioning 2nd edition by W.F. Stoecker and J.W. Jones) p.67
Formula for Sensible Heat Gain by Ventilation:

Qs = 1.23 (q) (To Ti)

Where:
Qs = sensible heat gain by ventilation
q = rate of ventilation
T = dry-bulb temperature difference across the surface (T o Ti)
Formula for Latent Heat Gain by Ventilation:

Ql = 3,000 (q) (Wo Wi)

Where:
Ql = latent heat gain by ventilation
q = rate of ventilation
W = change in humidity (Wo Wi)
Air requirement for ventilation
Source for ventilation requirements: notes from Engr. Benjamin V.D Estrellado Jr.
q = number of occupants (7.5), CFM
(ft3/min)(.02832m3/ft3)(1min/60 sec)(1000L/m3) = L/sec
Note: for number of occupants see heat load due to occupants
13 oC T (Temperature difference of 33 oC outside dry bulb temperature and 20 oC inside dry bulb
temperature) and 0.0216 kg/kg W was used for Basketball Court, First and Second Indoor Soccer
Field, Badminton Court, Bowling Center and Tennis Court because of the consideration of its outside
wall.

7 oC T (Temperature difference of 27 oC outside dry bulb temperature and 20 oC inside dry bulb
temperature) and .0113 W was used for Fitness Center because none of its wall was directly
exposed to sunlight or in other sense, all of its wall were inside walls.
From psychometric chart; (pathway)
Tdb = 27 oC & Twb = 25 oC
Humidity Ratio = .0193 kg/kg
