One can see millions of years of history revealed in the layers of mountains of earth at The Painted Hills,
one color at a time. The hills achieve their name from the seemingly continuous changing vibrant colors
of yellows, golds, blues and reds. Tones and hues may appear to change over time due to the
claystones differing with ever-changing light and moisture levels. The extraordinary geology of the hills
live up to their acclaim and recognition as one of the seven wonders of Oregon. Although The Painted
Hills are a small formation, the surrounding landscape makes it a popular destination. The lobby
symbolizes The Painted Hills, with its energetic colors and patterns. The movement found in the bands
of colors are illustrated through the curved lobby furniture and abstract wood detailing.

Upon entering the revolving doors of The Prime Hotel, guests eyes are immediately drawn to the elevator
feature wall that represent the bold and vibrant hues of The Painted Hills. The neutral quartzite tiled flooring
contrasts against the custom accent carpet, and it creates a great transition from the reception and seating
area. The P on the elevator brands the space even further and ensures the guests are at The Prime.
Off to the side of the lobby entrance, guests can sit and relax from a long trip in the lounge seating. The
accent carpet sets the space apart from the rest of the lobby, while the bold colors tie the space together.
Bold abstract paintings that include the vibrant hues of the Painted Hills are hung, and they bring life to the
area as well as light up the space. The feature wall separating the lobby and retail space resembles the grain
of wood to bring a natural aspect to the space.

Volcanic islands in the Pacific Ocean erupted about 270 million years ago, and the sediments formed sandstone
and limestone. The lava from the eruption formed the slopes. The terrain ran into the west causing the process of
two plates pressing together and fusing, which is called accretion. These plates formed the mountains that are
now known as the Wallowas. Upon entering the Accretion, guests are enveloped by a passage made of stone that
leads to a graphic wall with greenery and a metal feature wall. A change in elevation in the private dining area
encompasses the heights of the mountains. The interior walls of the private dining surround the guests for an
intimate dining experience within the mountains. The Wallowas consist of many rock types, however they make
the mountains undesirable to climb because of the crumbly, uneven surface. Therefore, rough textures are used
throughout the restaurant, such as the walls surrounding the private dining and the bar back wall. A variety of
seating is offered in order for guests to select their own dining experience. The earthy hues of the spaces
welcome customers throughout the space, and they lead them through the Wallowas.

When guests desire a more intimate dining experience, then they can sit in the private dining area where
they are surrounded by a three- dimensional walls that mimic the silhouette of The Wallawas. Pendant
lights are suspended over each table to illuminate the enclosed area while still holding on to the more
personal environment.
RESTAURANT BAR
The fractured rock wallcovering on the back wall draws guests eyes to the bar, where they can relax and get
a drink from the mountainous bar back. Green fabric on the bar stools accent the living wall to provide a
welcoming and refreshing atmosphere. Customers can sit along the back feature wall while they wait to be
seated while enjoying the space.

Were lucky that we not only have the 7 Wonders of Oregon The Coast,
Crater Lake, the Columbia River Gorge, the Wallowas, the Painted Hills,
Smith Rock and Mt. Hood but also a cycling scene that has attracted a
specific group of artisans: custom bicycle builders.

Upon arriving at Caldera Outfitters, shoppers are greeted with mountainous features, such as a
custom-built rock-climbing wall which serves as a display but also an accent feature.
The bike display featured at the back of Caldera Outfitters contains the original 7
Bikes for 7 Wonders. The bicycles were custom designed by Oregonian artisans for
the non-profit event for The Seven Wonders of Oregon. The event consisted of top
cyclists for around the world and is now on display in Caldera Outfitters for all visitors
of Oregon to see.

Over time, the velocity of a waterfall causes the water to carve deeper
into the rock and continue to flow upstream. They create breaks in the
rock which cause the water to flow in different directions down the
formation, but only to come together and end at a unifying source. A
land of natural contrasts between rain forest and desert, sea-level
passage and alpine meadows, is the inspiration for the wallcovering. The
bold, hand-crafted, water colors contrast with each other in order to
differentiate the landscapes while merging them together to present
guests with an experience all their own. The streams of vibrant hues
provide the guests with an opportunity to decide the path in which to
embark on the adventure of The Prime.

The Rooftop Bar and Grill represent two of The Seven Wonders of Oregon. Mount
Hood is the highest point in Oregon and sits at the center of the Columbia River
Gorge. Crater Lake is the third deepest body of water in the country. The
contrasting features incorporate well together to create the Myriad Rooftop Bar
and Grill. The term myriad means a countless or extreme number, portraying
the tall mountain and deep lake efficiently. Features of Mount Hood and Crater
Lake are incorporated throughout the rooftop. The rooftop is elevated in some
areas which represent the area of Mount Hood, while Crater Lake sits below with
a water feature and encaved by sofas and greenery. Mount Hood is actually an
active volcano, which is represented through fireplaces in the elevated areas to
not only reinforce our concept, but to provide warmth for the chilly Oregon
nights. Private lounge is located in the elevated areas to represent ice caves with
provides all the privacy needed along with a private bar access.

Blue and white glowing glass cubes represent ice cubes for the snowy mountain top and act as a light source. Elements of
the volcanic Mount Hood is illustrated through the fireplaces while also providing warmth for chilly Oregon nights. Private
cave lounge is featured in the back of the view with its elevated private bar access to justify the height differences.
