FROM THE EAST

FROM THE SECRETARY

Greetings Brothers,

Brothers,

We have several things to be proud of as

Masons but this year is special. Congratulations to M.:W.: Stan Hudson, Grand Master
of Masons of Florida and First Lady Joy. We
are also very proud of R.:W.: Doug Ankeny appointed as Grand
Marshall and Sister Tina who will have her hands full. Now that
the Grand Line is installed and things are settling down we can
look forward to a peaceful, quiet summer. I hope that we will be
honored to have the Grand Master sit in Lodge on our regular
stated meetings. Ill make sure that the Tyler checks his dues
card.

IMPORTANT NOTICE:

The month of June saw our new Grand Master installed and
the beginning of hurricane season. I dont know if theres a connection between the two. Get your homes and businesses ready
for any kind of eventful weather and get your Masonic self, ready
to be part of the Grand Masters home Lodge.
The spaghetti dinner on 5/14 was a big hit and I want to thank
all those that participated to make it work, especially Sharon Reiff
who is always ready to pitch in. Brothers Mike Hafling and Scott
Nelson worked to make the fund raiser a success.
On Saturday 5/14 at 12 noon we conducted a Masonic funeral
for Bro. William Andrews of Biscayne Bay Lodge who passed
away at Lawnwood Hospital. This was at the request of his family.
At 1230 on the same day I was notified by Clifford Yuhas, son of
W.: Mike Yuhas, that they wanted a Masonic service at Acacia
Lodge, Stuart at 2pm. Several of us went to Acacia and performed the service. W.: Mike passed away on 4/29 and it took
until 5/14 for the family to settle on a date. I want to thank RW
Paul Friend for opening the Lodge to accommodate us.
The next Masters and Wardens of the 30 District meeting will
meet at Vero Beach Lodge 250 on July 23 with breakfast at 8am
and meeting at 9. They will also be hosting the Grand Masters
(Continued on page 2)

At our May 23rd meeting, we had

three (3) petitions to ballot upon a reinstatement and two (2) for the three degrees of Freemasonry. However it was
determined there were irregularities and
this caused W.:M.: Jim Barnes to declare
an irregular ballot. We filed a dispensation request to void the ballots and it was
granted by the Grand Master. This was
announced to the Craft at the June 27th
stated communication. We will hold the
ballot for these three (3) petitions at our
July 25th stated communication. Steps will
be taken to prevent the irregularities from
reoccurring.
Congratulations to M.:W.: Stan
Hudson our new Grand Master and his
Grand Marshal R.:W.: Doug Ankeny.
I expect to report in our next Connection, that the Lodge is setup on Circumscribe and ready to start letting our Brothers create their account online. Instructions and updates will be provided.

homecoming in Vero on October 1st. I mention this

since the district has some newly appointed officers,
RW Rick Holt of Okeechobee, is Grand Pursuviant,
RW Ced Spaulding is the DDGM for Dist. 30, RW
Jim Green is Dist. 30 DI and RW Harold Gordon,
DDGM for Dist. 32. Congratulations to First Lady
Joy Hudson and good luck to all. RW Jim Green
will continue with open book on the 2nd Wednesday
of the month at 6pm.
This month we celebrated Independence Day
with the traditional backyard cookouts, firework and
merriment as it should be. Lets keep in mind the
reason we have this day and the fact that we can celebrate. For 240 years we have enjoyed the freedom
that goes with being a citizen of the United States of
America and defenders of freedom around the
world.
On Saturday July 30, starting at 11am we will hold
a bar-b-que at the Lodge which I encourage all members and their families to participate in. The usual
outdoor fare and soft drinks along with some great
getting together. Keep an eye on the weather for the
next few months since we are in that season when
things can get ugly. God bless you all and protect our
military wherever they are.
