WeMustHumbleOurHeartsinTrueRepentance
Arevivaloftruegodlinessamongusisthegreatestandmosturgentofallourneeds.Toseek
thisshouldbeourfirstwork.TheremustbeearnestefforttoobtaintheblessingoftheLord,not
becauseGodisnotwillingtobestowHisblessinguponus,butbecauseweareunpreparedto
receiveit.OurheavenlyFatherismorewillingtogiveHisHolySpirittothemthataskHim,than
areearthlyparentstogivegoodgiftstotheirchildren.Butitisourwork,byconfession,
humiliation,repentance,andearnestprayer,tofulfiltheconditionsuponwhichGodhas
promisedtograntusHisblessing.Arevivalneedbeexpectedonlyinanswertoprayer.1SM

Itellyouthattheremustbeathoroughrevivalamongus.Theremustbeaconvertedministry.
Theremustbeconfessions,repentance,andconversions.ManywhoarepreachingtheWord
needthetransforminggraceofChristintheirhearts.Theyshouldletnothingstandinthewayof

ReformationMustAccompanyRevival
Arevivalandareformationmusttakeplace,undertheministrationoftheHolySpirit.Revival
andreformationaretwodifferentthings.Revivalsignifiesarenewalofspirituallife,aquickening
ofthepowersofmindandheart,aresurrectionfromspiritualdeath.Reformationsignifiesa
reorganization,achangeinideasandtheories,habitsandpractices.Reformationwillnotbring
forththegoodfruitofrighteousnessunlessitisconnectedwiththerevivaloftheSpirit.Revival
andreformationaretodotheirappointedwork,andindoingthisworktheymustblend.RH

WeMustPutAwayAllStrifeandDissension
WhenthelabourershaveanabidingChristintheirownsouls,whenallselfishnessisdead,
whenthereisnorivalry,nostrifeforthesupremacy,whenonenessexists,whentheysanctify

themselves,sothatloveforoneanotherisseenandfelt,thentheshowersofthegraceofthe
HolySpiritwilljustassurelycomeuponthemasthatGod'spromisewillneverfailinonejotor
tittle.Butwhentheworkofothersisdiscounted,thattheworkersmayshowtheirown
superiority,theyprovethattheirownworkdoesnotbearthesignatureitshould.Godcannot

IfwestandinthegreatdayoftheLordwithChristasourrefuge,ourhightower,wemustput
awayallenvy,allstrifeforthesupremacy.Wemustutterlydestroytherootsoftheseunholy
things,thattheymaynotagainspringupintolife.Wemustplaceourselveswhollyonthesideof
