TherearetwolevelsoftheTOEFLPrimaryreadingandlisteningtest:Step1andStep2.Ask
yourchildsteacherwhichlevelofthetestshouldbetaken.AllTOEFLPrimaryreadingand
listeningtestsassessstudentsknowledge,skills,andabilitiesforfulfillingcore
communicationgoalsinEnglish.YounglearnersareacquiringtheirEnglishabilitiesat

TheSpeakingtestwillstartbyaskingstudentssomebasicquestionsaboutthemselvesto
makesuretheirheadsetsworkproperly.Then,studentswillbeintroducedtoastorylineand
characterswhoguidethestudentthroughthetesttasks.Thefirstpromptisanunscored
practicequestionthatgivesstudentsachancetobecomemorecomfortablewiththe
computersetupandformatofthetest.Testpromptsincludeaudio,picture,andvideo
elements.Eachquestionhasatimelimit,andthetimelimitvariesbyquestiontype.The
longestamountoftimeallottedforaresponseis30seconds.
