You based the lesson on an activity in our new Attainment Curriculum. The lesson was organized with a clear structure. All of the Paraprofessionals also assisted in ‘engaging the students and monitoring student attending and progress. The lesson ended by having the students complete worksheets that were differentiated by the table the students were working at. You also incorporated the SMART Board to increase student attending. Brandon had some behavioral issues that you worked through and most of the students behavior was generally appropriate. On future lesson plans | recommend that you target specific IEP goals and break the students up by adding a 3rd or 4th group, having students with similar IEP goals together. It was clear that there was a lot of time and effort put into creating this lesson. Differentiated behavior systems were in place for al of the students, including token systems and FirsThen Boards. This was a creative, multi-sensory lesson, that highly engaged the students with a well-designed learning activity. As we discussed, when using a Tree Map, put the food as the main component, and each branch shouid represent the different senses. | also recommend using a Frame of Reference with the Thinking Maps to increase rigor, and the use of higher level cognitive skils.
