Introduction
8 out of 10 are not following Jesus
Many followers do not know how to help their
friends follow Jesus
Jesus said, Make disciples of all nations
(Matt 28:19-20)
To solve this, we will answer 10 questions
1. What is a simple church?
Its a true church (Romans 16:1-5).
Its simple. All you need is
The WORD of God (2 Tim 3:16-17)
The SPIRIT of God (1 Pet 1:1-3)
The PEOPLE of God (Eph 4:15-16)
The WORKS of God (Rom 8:28)
2. Why a simple church? People need
A SAFE PLACE (Mark 2:14-16)
An ACCESSIBLE PLACE
A REAL PLACE
An ALTERNATIVE PLACE
3. Who can start a simple church? Anyone who knows
how to
FOLLOW Jesus (Luke 10:1-24)
OBEY Jesus
LOVE like Jesus
LEAD others to Jesus
OFFER his or her resources to Jesus
WORK for Jesus in His harvest field
4. How do you start a simple church?
GENERATE new contacts (Acts 13)
OFFER Gods love in tangible and intangible ways
BEGIN spiritual conversations with seekers
REVEAL your personal testimony
INVITE to an initial meeting
NARRATE the Gospel story if they agree to meet
regularly
GUIDE seekers to begin following Jesus as soon as
possible
5. How do you make disciples in a simple church?
BEGIN mentoring relationships with faithful
members (2 Tim 2:2)
UNDERSTAND their learning needs

INSTRUCT them using available resources


LOVE them unconditionally but firmly
DEVELOP them toward spiritual maturity
6. What are the challenges of leading a simple church?
SINFUL habits (Eph 4:17-32)
IDENTITY issues
NEGATIVE mindsets
7. What are the characteristics of a healthy simple church?
These three things are happening:
DISCIPLESHIP (Acts 2:42-47)
NURTURING RELATIONSHIPS
APOSTOLIC MISSION
8. How do you create nurturing relationships in a simple
church? You teach everyone how to
INITIATE relationships (Romans 12:9-21)
GROW relationships
MAINTAIN relationships
DEEPEN relationships
9. How do you conduct apostolic mission as a simple
church? Together
RECOGNIZE the needs of people around you (Titus
2:11-14)
EVALUATE possible solutions to solve those needs
ASSESS priorities
CREATE workable strategies
HARNESS the power of teamwork
10. What do you do when your simple church is becoming
too big (>12)? You should
SELECT faithful people for training (Matt 9:35-38)
EQUIP them using this tool
NURTURE their faith, hope and love
DIRECT them to start a new work
