Harry & Rosemary Wongs Seven Things Students Want To Know
1. Am I in the right room? My name, subject and room number will be posted on the board and outside the door. I will also be in the hallway to welcome and assist students as they come to class.
2. Where am I supposed to sit?
If hired at the high school level I would likely allow students to chose their own seats, understanding I can move them if need be. If hired at the middle school students will be a assigned a desk by picking a desk number out of a bag (on globe stress ball they keep) and will adjust seating if needed.
3. What are the rules in this classroom?
My class rules will be clearly posted on a bulletin board at the front of class or near the entrance. They will also be in the syllabus each student receives. We will go over the rules, consequences and class procedures the first day.
4. What will I be doing this year?
The class syllabus will have a brief course overview and rough schedule of the semester in it along with the rules, expectations and policies. We will read this syllabus together the first day and answer any questions the students may have.

5. How will I be graded?
Grade policy will be in the syllabus & on grade rubrics for each assignment. There will be no curve. Grades will come from a variety of assessments.
6.Who is my teacher as a person?
I will send home an introduction letter before school, introduce myself & my service dog the first day including educational background & interests, and may have a bulletin board.
7. Will the teacher treat me as a human being?
I will treat each student with dignity and cultivate a class of mutual support and respect. I will greet each student at the door. They can be thus assured of their worthiness and ability to succeed.
