Q1. For the circuit, shown in figure (1), find:


i. the value of i0,
ii. the voltage across the 8 resistor,
iii. the current through the 10 resistor,
iv. the power delivered/absorbed by the voltage source, and
v. the power delivered/absorbed by the CCCS.

Q2. For the circuit, shown in figure (2), find:


i. the open circuit voltage, VTh, between a and b,
ii. the short circuit current, IN, through a and b,
iii. the Thvenins equivalent circuit between a and b,
iv. the resistance Rab, to be connected between the terminals a and b such that it
absorbs the maximum power from the circuit, and
v. the maximum power dissipated in Rab, calculated in (iv).

Q3. For the Op-Amp circuit, shown in figure (3), vs = 3 V and Rf = 4.8 k. Find:
i. the value of vo,
ii. the value of io,
iii. the range of vs to avoid saturation (assuming Rf = 4.8 k), and
iv. the range of Rf to avoid saturation (assuming vs = 3 V).

Q4. For the RC circuit, shown in figure (4), the switch has been open for a long time
before closing at t = 0. Find:
i. the voltage across the capacitor, v(t), for t > 0,
ii. the maximum energy stored in C,
iii. the current through the 3- resistor, for t > 0, and
iv. the power delivered by each source at t .

Q5. For the RLC circuit, shown in figure (5), the switch has been closed for a very long
time before opening at t = 0. Find:
i. io(t) for t > 0,
ii. vo(t) for t > 0, and
iii. the total energy dissipated in R = 500 after a very long time (t , t > 0).

Q6. For the ac circuit, shown in figure (6), find:


i. the total impedance of the circuit (provide two forms: real/imaginary & magnitude/phase),
ii. a time-domain steady state expression for vo,
iii. how much time is vo (t) out of phase (lead/lag) with the input voltage, and
iv. a new value for C such that the total current is in phase with the input voltage.

Q7. For the circuit, shown in figure (7), and assuming that vg is a DC source and that all
capacitors were initially discharged, find:
i. the differential equation governing the relationship between vo1 and vg,
ii. the differential equation governing the relationship between vo and vo1,
iii. the differential equation governing the relationship between vo and vg, and
iv. expressions for both vo1 and vo assuming: Ra = 100 k, Rb = 25 k, R1 = 500 k,
R2 = 100 k, C1 = 0.1 F, C2 = 1 F, vg (0-) = 0, and vg (0+) = 250 mV.
