Three classrooms are joining together to have a multi- cultural Thanksgiving feast to celebrate our diversity. Please join us in Ms. Chris’s classroom (Rm. 172) on Tuesday, November 25% from 1:20 until dismissal. Please bring in a dish that represents your country/culture of origin. P255Q@PS70 There are 3 new teachers at this unit, Stephanie, Jillian and Kaitlyn. They have worked very hard with a mentor, Rosamma Sam and Coach Vernice. Jillian has become a resident expert on DLM and is the "go-to" person when teachers have questions! Kaitlyn went above and beyond to create a pen pal partnership to support our troops and had her students create care packages with items that they purchased on community walks. Stephanie created a wonderful smartboard resource for our math attainment lessons and has shared this resource with all. Lisa and Caroline should also get a shout out for creating and enacting a well-crafted social skills action plan that is tailored to the needs of our students. Even the gen ed teachers have commented on helpful they find our new door holding visuals! Caroline and Lisa also volunteered to help mentor our new teachers with math attainment. Finally, Dave Diaz for spending extra hours outside of work to help create a logo for our superhero imitative and our school-wide t-shirts. Dave collaborated with a student from PEC to create a final image for all of us! P255Q@PS3070 There were some difficult tasks at the unit this year and 2 teachers were instrumental in assisting the unit, Janelle and new teacher Jessica Janelle is recognized for her tremendous help and tireless efforts with fundraising, she always has great ideas for raising funds for the unit She also negotiated with the t- shirt company so that the whole school could have superyou t-shirts! Jessica for her enthusiasm in creating a girls' club for the unit. She has planned many fun and exciting acti for our girls in collaboration with our speech teachers, Paraprofessionals and OT: P255Q@PS1540 At this unit we would like to give a shout out to our art teacher, Wendy Schwerdt. Wendy consistently goes above and beyond for her students providing them with an exceptional art education that is recognized throughout the DOE and the community. Here is a small sample of her accomplishments VSA Citywide Calendar Competition: Winners have their art exhibited in various museums in Manhattan. This year it was the Pratt Museum.
