The difficulties of finding the correct career path for students.

INTRODUCTION
Do students going into/ or even in college know for certain what they want to pursue as a
career?
A majority of students going into college or even the students in college dont know what
major they will graduate with.
QUESTION AND ANSWER
This questions is very compelling because many students that stumble upon this topic can
relate to it. This question is important to me because Ive struggled with discovering what major
or career Id like to have after college.
1. Who would this topic relate to the most?
This topic would relate to anyone roughly 16 and above. The reason it starts at 16 is because
thats when most students start to thinking about their future and what career theyd like to have.
This topic wouldnt have an age resistant because we all go through this phase in our life.
2. What are some students opinions on college if they dont know a major fit for them?
Students could feel that they are wasting their time and money on an education that may not
further their yet to be discovered career path. They would much rather be using that money on
bills or other essentials, rather than towards an education that would be pointless if they are
uncertain.
3. What advice would a student that graduated uncertain of his major give to students
entering college without a clue what major theyd want to have?
4. What are some negative influences college can have if a students doesnt know what they
want to pursue in?
5. Is college an important step?
College is an important step for certain individuals but for students that havent discovered their
own personal career path, which some at that moment in time it may not be the right choice.
6. How can students find a suitable career path for them?
7. What are they percentages of graduates that didnt know at first what major they wanted
to pursue in?
8. How many students entering college know exactly what they want to major in?

9. Is there a correlation between not knowing what to major in and a lack of self-discovery?
10. Does the amount of students unsure of what to major in, increase or decrease with each
year in college?
