THE FLORIDA SENATE

SENATOR ANDY GARDINER

President

May 13, 2016

Mr. Matthew Damsky

3110 Equestrian Drive
Boca Raton, FL 33434
Dear Mr. Damsky:
As a district staff employee of the Florida Senate, and pursuant to section 3.04, The Florida Senate
Administrative Policies and Procedures (2015), you requested and received two (2) advance session
subsistence payments for travel in the total amount of $5,168.00 for the 2016 Legislative Regular Session.
Although requested by OLS Finance and Accounting, the Florida Senate has not received the travel
reimbursement vouchers substantiating your relocation to Tallahassee during the 2016 Session as required
in section 3.02. Therefore, you have an outstanding balance of $5,168 with the Florida Senate.
Your annual net leave payout is $4,085.51. The Senate is unable to process your leave payout due to the
outstanding balance for advance session subsistence monies. If you do not substantiate immediately the
advance session subsistence monies you received by submitting travel reimbursement vouchers, the
Senate will withhold your annual leave net payout of $4,085.51 to recoup some of the monies owed and
consider other alternatives to seek from you personally the remaining balance of $1,082.49.
Please contact Jim Heberle, OLS Finance & Accounting, (850) 717-0364, heberle.jim@leg.state.fl.us by
COB, Friday, May 27, 2016, to affirm that you are submitting the proper supporting documentation.
Please govern yourself accordingly.
Sincerley,

Andy Gardiner
President
