1.INTRODUCTION:
DELMIA allows manufactures in any industry to virtually define, plan, create, monitor,
and control all production processes. It provides an array of dedicated applications for
industries, combined with an environment for knowledge-sharing, process and resource
management, and the ability to capture and implement best practices for manufacturing.
DELMIA PLM technology allows manufactures to interact with factory processes early in
the design stage and months before actual production commitment. Engineers, management,
and stakeholders can have a 3D visualization of the real world with the ability to evaluate "whatif scenarios," make changes, optimize shop floor operations, and identify and eliminate costly
errors and design mistakes. This allows any enterprise to facilitate higher quality and foster
greater innovation. DELMIA also extends its PLM technology to smaller business within the
supply chain to allow smaller companies to batter connect and collaborate with larger
manufactures.
2.OBEJECTIVE OF THE PROJECT:

Background study of the process station suitable module.

Sub-assembly of the given process station module.
Assemble the already assembled parts.
Create the mechanism of process station.
Integrate the five stations.
Real time simulating the process stations.

3.BACKGROUND STUDY:

3.1 STUDY ON NECESSARY MODULES OF THE SOFTWARE:

DELMIA software has a number of workbenches. To design and simulate the indexing
mechanism using the Geneva mechanism the workbenches such as part design, assembly
design, device building and Digital Mock-Up kinematics are studied.

3.1.1 SKETCHER:
Sketcher application makes it possible for designers to sketch precise and rapid 2D
profiles.

3.1.2 PART DESIGN:

The Part Design application makes it possible to design precise 3D mechanical parts
with an intuitive and flexible user interface, from sketching in an assembly context to iterative
detailed design. Part Design application will enable you to accommodate design requirements
for parts of various complexities, from simple to advanced. This application, which combines the

power of feature-based design with the flexibility of a Boolean approach, offers a highly
productive and intuitive design environment with multiple design methodologies, such as postdesign and local 3D parameterization. As a scalable product, Part Design can be used in
cooperation with other current or future companion products such as Assembly Design and
Generative Drafting

3.1.3 ASSEMBLY DESIGN:

Assembly Design allows the design of assemblies with an intuitive and flexible user
interface. As a scalable workbench, Assembly Design can be cooperatively used with other
current companion products such as Part Design and Generative Drafting.
Digital Mock-Up (DMU) Navigator inspection capabilities can also be used to review and check
assemblies. Interactive, variable-speed techniques such as walk-through and fly as well as
other viewing tools let you visually navigate through large assemblies.

3.1.4 DIGITAL MOCK-UP KINEMATICS:

DMU Kinematics Simulator is an independent CAD product dedicated to simulating
assembly motions. It addresses the design review environment of digital mock-ups (DMU) and
can handle a wide range of products from consumer goods to very large automotive or
aerospace projects as well as plants, ships and heavy machinery.
3.1.5 DEVICE BUILDING:
Device Building provides a complete set of tools for modeling mechanical systems that
are typically used in the manufacturing process. Such systems include robotic end-effectors
(grippers, weldguns, etc.), positioning devices, stamping presses, milling machines, lathes,
tracked vehicles, industrial robots, NC machines and coordinate measuring machines (CMMS).
The target is generic modeling of forward-kinematic devices that can be driven in joint
coordinates and inverse-kinematic devices that can be driven in cartesian toolpoint coordinates.
3.1.6 WORKCELL SEQUENCING:
Workcell Sequencing is a powerful 3D simulation tool used to simulate robotic
manufacturing processes. It builds upon the workcell model developed in Robot Task Definition,
Human Task Simulation, or DPM Assembly Process Simulation. With Workcell Sequencing, the
user can coordinate and review the functioning of multiple resources as they work in tandem.
