First quarter Cathodic protection systems for all QPC Facilities

Ref. to the above mentioned subject, attached for your reference is the
cathodic protection measurements for external structure through First
quarter 2012 found as attached table and charts.

Observation
1)External Cathodic protection systems

1)- For external surface CP systems found problem with insulation


flanges and T/R specially at all karama water flood and Bany Suaf
pipelines.
11)Internal cathodic protection systems

- For internal surface CP systems of water flood tanks found many


problem with layers of crude oil in W/F tanks obstacles the impressed
current flow (memo dated 3/1/2012).
II)

Recommendations

- It is highly recommended to contact projects Dept to finalize all


outstanding systems that not handed over and systems leakage
Specially all karama water flood and Bany suaf pipelines.

- For future projects, we forced to change internal CP systems of W/F


tanks from impressed to sacrificial anode system.
This system exist and already under evaluation and install in bottom
tanks of Heba W/F. Also, it is applied @ and all tanks at QPC.

This is for your consideration and action as necessary.
