Examination Instructions for the Candidates Appearing in All India Written Test for Recruitment of Engineers

BARC Training Schools (OCES/DFGS-2010)

(This sheet is to be carried by the candidates to the examination venue on the day of Written Test)

A. General Instructions
z Examination will be conducted in one session for all the engineering disciplines as per the schedule given below:
c Date of Written Test: May 30, 2010 (Sunday)
c Reporting time at examination venue: 09:30 Hours
c Entry into Classroom/Verification of admit card/registration: 10:00 Hours to 10:30 Hours
c Distribution of OMR Answer Sheet: 10:50 Hours
c Examination Duration: 11:00 hours to 13:00 Hours
z List of examination venues for each city is given as Table-1 of this instruction sheet. Please note down your venue.
Recheck the venue specific to your discipline and application number for the city opted by you while applying.
z Please bring the following items to the written examination venue (i) Admit Card (ii) Proof of Identity (iii) this examination
instruction sheet (iv) Pen, HB Pencils, Eraser and Sharpener.
z You are not permitted to bring any electronic gadget/arithmetic aids such as mobile phones/ any
communication/computing device, calculator, slide rule, log table, personal notes, books etc to the examination
venue.
z Report to examination venue at 09:30 Hours. Locate your room number through displays/ posters at examination venue
using your application number. Show ‘admit card’ along with any of the prescribed ‘proof of identity’ before entering the
examination venue. Go to your room and find out ‘seat number’ from the displays/posters located near each room. Sit
quietly on allocated seat. If you are unable to identify your seat, please contact Test Co-ordinator of the venue.
z Display your ‘admit card’ and ‘proof of identity’ on the desk for checking by Invigilator.
z Optical Mark Reader (OMR) Answer Sheet will be given to you by invigilator at 10:50 Hours. Fill in OMR Answer Sheet as
per instructions.
z Boxes in the OMR Answer-Sheet are to be filled with pen. In Item No. ‘1’, write your name, as mentioned in the
Application Form. If space provided in OMR Answer Sheet is not adequate, suitably abbreviate your name. Date of Birth
should be indicated under ‘Item No. 2’ in dd/mm/yy format. Application No., Discipline Code, Venue Code, Question
Booklet Number and Centre Code should be written with pen under the ‘item Nos.4,6,7,8, & 9’ respectively. It is
mandatory to put your signature in the box provided against Item number ‘11’. Invigilator will sign in the box
provided against item number ‘12’. Ensure invigilator’s signature on OMR Answer Sheet.
z OVALs in the OMR Answer Sheet must be filled by HB pencil only. Complete the shading of OVALs under ‘item
number-2, 3,4,5,6,7 & 9 before you receive the Question Booklet (10:55 hours). The Question Booklet will be provided
after completion of filling of OMR Answer Sheet (except for item numbers 8 & 10) at the ring of ‘commencement bell’ for
the examination. Your answers should be indicated by shading/darkening the appropriate OVALs under item No.10
“ANSWERS”.
z The OMR Answer Sheet will be scanned by an OMR machine. Do not, therefore, make any stray pencil or ink marks on
the sheet. Do not fold the sheet.
z As soon as you receive the Question Booklet, check for discipline, Question Booklet number, number of pages and any
obvious printing error. If case of defect in Question Booklet, get it replaced immediately. Mark Question Booklet Number
(item number-8) on OMR Answer Sheet.
z The Written Test Question Booklet comprises of discipline specific hundred objective type questions drawn from subjects
normally covered during the respective qualifying course. Each of the objective type questions will have 4 choices namely
A, B, C and D (out of which only one is correct). Candidates should darken only ‘one oval’ out of four provided. There will
be ‘3’ marks for correct answer, ‘1’ negative mark for wrong answer and ‘0’ mark for question not attempted.
z Submit your OMR Answer Sheet and Question Booklet to the invigilator on completion of Test.
z You will not be permitted to leave the room until the examination is over and both the OMR Answer Sheet and Question
Booklet are collected from all the candidates in a room.
