Montage
Description: This is a montage created in Photoshop. The goal
of this project was to continue praciticing skills developed in
Photoshop as well as to learn how to convey a new message using
several seperate messages.
Date:
May 28,2016
Course and Instructor:
Ben Pingel
Communications 130: Visual Media
Programs and Tools Used: Adobe Photoshop. Especially used the
opacity and various brush tools.
Process: Started by understanding the overall image that I wanted
to be able to create. I then searched and gathered the four images
used in five different places in the final product. The most time
consuming part of the process was ensureing that the blending
was even and that the image was brought together naturally.

Brochure
Description: Brochure designed for a local Maine restaurant
displaying their local value and appeal when seeking for the full
Maine experience.
Date:
July 10, 2016
Course and Instructor:
Ben Pingel
Communications 130: Visual Media
Programs and Tools Used: Adobe Photoshop, Indesign and
Illustrator
Process: Formulated the idea to advertise for this restaurant.
The aspects that I am most proud of in this project is the use of
the color schene and the images that I found to keep that color
scheme consistent throughout the work. I also learned a alot in
them development of the logo and the repetition throughout
the brochure.

Stationery
Description: Stationery designed for fictional Idaho Falls Energy
Corporation.
Date: June 11, 2016
Course and Instructor:
Ben Pingel
Communications 130: Visual Media
Programs and Tools Used: Adobe Illustrator for the logo creation.
Adobe Indesign for the ultimate compilation of the elements
and design.
Process: I started this design knowing that I wanted to create
someting that had a different message than all of my other
projects. That is why I went for the more geometric design. I
learned how to use the pen tool and how to make the project look
complete by matching the fonts to the logo. The most challenging
part of this assignment was ensureing that the alignment was
even in the logo.

Business Card
Description: Business card designed for fictional Idaho Falls Energy
Corporation.
Date: June 11, 2016
Course and Instructor:
Ben Pingel
Communications 130: Visual Media
Programs and Tools Used: Adobe Illustrator for the logo creation.
Adobe Indesign for the ultimate compilation of the elements
and design.
Process: Paired with the sationery created for this same company.
The process of making the business card was slightly different
in that there were now two sides of the product to consider. The
biggest difference between this project and the letterhead was the
different alignment that had to be considered on the two sides of
the card.

Logo
Description: Logo created for another fictional company with their
potential product in mind.
Date: June 5, 2016
Course and Instructor:
Ben Pingel
Communications 130: Visual Media
Programs and Tools Used: Adobe Illustrator
Process: I decided that I wanted to make something that could
be used as a stamp for the company that it is used for. The
circles then became a strong icon as it is able to be that stamp
of approval on the home care products that thi company would
provide. I did my best to reflect the open honesty that the
company wants to be known for by keeping the design really
simple with the repetition of the circles and simple text.

Photodesign
Description: Inspirational message constructed with photography,
photoediting and general design skills.
Date: May 21, 2016
Course and Instructor:
Ben Pingel
Communications 130: Visual Media
Programs and Tools Used: Adobe Photoshop and DSLR Canon
Camera.
Process: Practiced photography elements to be able to capture an
image that would contribute to the overall message. Implemented
Photoshop skills, especially using the layers and masks to enhance
the color scheme that I used in the image. Ensured that the quote
matched the image so that they created a single message
and image.

Web Design
Description: Website created for Good and Company the same
company that I created the logo for previously.
Date: June 25, 2016
Course and Instructor:
Ben Pingel
Communications 130: Visual Media
Programs and Tools Used: Html and CSS Stylesheet
Process: Programmed the html and placed it into the css
stylesheet. Designed it so that it continued the open, honest and
simplicity of the message so that the goodness of the company
is still felt. Worked to make sure that the Good and Co. were
the things that stood out on the page the most so that the viewer
understands who the website is for.

Event Ad
Description: Event Ad for a potential non profit organization
promoting melanoma awareness.
Date: May 14, 2016
Course and Instructor:
Ben Pingel
Communications 130: Visual Media
Programs and Tools Used: Scanned image. Constructed the final
product in Microsoft Word.
Process: Located the image that I wanted to use and scanned it
onto the computer so that I could then place and manipulate it
in word. I used the image as the base of hthe color scheme so
that none of the colors would be overbearing. Used the design
settings in photoshop to ensure that all of the text was aligned
appropriately within the image.

Flier
Description: Flier designed for an event hosted by Vouant
Communications targeting college students approaching
graduation.
Date: May 6, 2016
Course and Instructor:
Ben Pingel
Communications 130: Visual Media
Programs and Tools Used: Adobe Indesign
Process: This was my first project and so it was really interesting
to try to figure out how to use Indesign. The most important things
that I learned in making this was the focus on alignment and the
heirarchy that is created in organizing the various elements. This
was one of the most challenging projects because of how new
the programs were, but I learned alot about contrast, alignment
and repetition. It was a very good way to start learning about the
design processes.
