Compile a digital travel portfolio for the following travel

scenario: (can be onenote, ppt, prezi, website)

4 friends aged 18-25yrs are going on an independent holiday (no travel agent, no
complete package trips). You are volunteering to organise everything.
Time in class lessons has been allocated to help you complete this task.

Your TRAVEL PORTFOLIO will include the following:

DESTINATION: any international destination can be chosen. While flying time will not be counted
in your day count (i.e. your 7 days) you must acknowledge time taken to get to and
from your destination.

HOLIDAY PERIOD: 7 days minimum NOT including travel time. If you choose a package component
in your trip you MUST extend your holiday period by the same number of days,
up to a MAXIMUM OF 10 DAYS. Please note any package components is limited
to a maximum of 2nights/3days.

BUDGET:
- Airfares will be bought at any ECONOMY rate (the idea is to show evidence of finding the best
airfare deal).
- $A1000/day for all 4 people. This amount must cover ALL costs for the 4 travellers (except
personal spending money) i.e. accommodation, transport, activities, food etc.
- A contingency fund to cover additional mandatory expenses will need to be worked out per
person i.e. passports, visas, travel insurance, injections etc. this is NOT included in your $1000
per day but must appear on your spreadsheet.
- You will need to complete a comprehensive spreadsheet to show a breakdown of ALL costs per
person.

Your Portfolio needs to address the following:

-

Name of the international destination including a location map & itinerary map

Profile your destination including population, climate, ethnicity of people, language(s) spoken
basic historical information, why it is regarded as a travel destination plus other useful information.

Airfares you must show evidence of airfare shopping to find the best deal. You must explain why
you chose the airfare you did.

Flight details name of airline departure location/time arrival location/time.

Documentation required including passport/visa requirements etc include application forms

where appropriate.

Travel insurance you need to acquire appropriate travel insurance for your trip evidence of
comparison shopping will improve your report.

A detailed itinerary for AM/PM for each day including meals, sightseeing, other activities
supported by evidence of pictures, videos etc. (you cannot just sit around a pool every day).

Accommodation details (can be a variety of types over the duration of the trip). Comparison
shopping for the best deals should be included.

Transport options used details of getting around your destination e.g. public transport, car hire,
trains. Any internal flights must come out of your allocated budget.

- Spreadsheet specific breakdown of all costs per person.

It is important that you show evidence of using a variety of travel help resources and what they have to
offer the traveller in planning a holiday. The more details you give in each component of your portfolio
will add to the quality of your work.
