PROGRAMS

OBJECTIVE

Setup and create a duplex document in Adobe InDesign that

includes four high quality images, a newly created logo and
original written content with stylized headers, subheaders and
body copy.

PROCESS

Designed the new logo in Illustrator, maintaining brand equity

with the existing icon and kept within same size to allow a more
cost efficient rebranding process. I then designed the basic layout
in InDesign and then found the images I wanted to use. With the
selected images, I wrote content based upon the images, carefully
grouping together information under related headers. After
printing the first draft, I downsized the design to be more costefficient for printing and made revisions based upon feedback.

PROGRAMS
Adobe Illustrator

Create three completely different, original logos to fit a company

or personal image that will appeal to the audience. Conduct
market research and revise.

PROCESS

I started by looking up inspiration and other logos with the same

name. I then went into illustrator and started sketching up some
different ideas. I gathered feedback from my three strongest
looks using Qualtrics and Yik Yak. Finally, I went in and made the
changes according to feedback and proposed the final version.

DESCRIPTION

In Ancient Roman myth and religion, Janus is the god of

passages, beginnings, gateways and portals. The logo itself is
exactly that a portal. This reflects what JANUS does: allows
company to create a portal for their customers, providing
information about their services offered. Both the business card
and letterhead feature a supergraphic on the back side that
symbolize opening a portal of communication.

OBJECTIVE
INSTRUCTOR
LeFevre
Spring 16

PROGRAMS
Adobe Illustrator

Create a new logo and then design a matching business card and
letterhead with a consistent look and layout.

PROCESS

To create the logo I combined two Js and used the rotate tool
to create an icon; I then added the wordmark. I then created the
front of the business card and created a pattern with the icon for
the back. I then used the same elements to create the letterhead.
With feedback, I got rid of the pattern, opting for a supergraphic.

DESCRIPTION

The purpose of this project is to communicate essential branding

information in a simple, friendly and intuitive website for internal
employees of JANUS and other stakeholders who might need to
have this information.

OBJECTIVE

Use HTML and CSS to code and create a webpage with original
content written about the process of a logo personally created.

PROCESS

I started out by writing the content and created images and

examples in Adobe Illustrator that would be used to show and
exemplify aspects of the brand guidelines. I then wrote out the
basic HTML code for the website, followed by a CSS stylesheet.
The CSS stylesheet included the addition of Google Fonts, a
stylized horizontal rule with a drop shadow, stylized headings and
body copy, an H1 image that would float right, and I made sure
that all images were responsive for High DPI displays.

This design visually translates the message from a quote given

by Elder Larry R. Lawrence of the Seventy.

Use Photoshop to blend two or more images gradually using

masks and then compose a spiritual message using tasteful
typography that complements the montage and layout.

PROCESS

After choosing an image of a mountain range with ominous

looking clouds, I used the content aware tool to reduce the size of
the mountain peak. I then placed an image of the Rexburg Temple
that I took on top of the hills, masked the temple and blended the
sky and mountains together to create a seamless transition of the
two horizons. I then found a star picture with a similar mountain
and color scheme, applied a gradient blend mask to gradually
include the stars. Finally I added the quote, stylized the text then
moved the montage image to create an appealing layout based
upon the rule of thirds.

PROGRAMS
Adobe InDesign

Use basic InDesign skills to improve an existing flier using strong

typography skills, image placement and masking, and linked files.

PROCESS

The process in creating this flier was quite simple. The entire
design is directed and controlled by the image, which is tightly
masked. After sketching out ideas on paper, I then went into
InDesign and did my initial draft. With feedback from fellow
designers and stakeholders I then made revisions for the flier.

The message of this photodesign incorporates the projects

objectives of using a color scheme and helps reinforce design
terminology. In addition, the design features the popular design
trend of color blocking, creating connections to a deeper level of
design learning and knowledge beyond the project.

INSTRUCTOR

Take a new picture and adjust image levels, saturation, color

balance and sharpen practicing non-destructive editing.
Incorporate design elements using a color scheme that

OBJECTIVE

My entire process started with taking this picture of the field

across from the temple. After opening the photo in Photoshop,
I adjusted the levels, increased vibrancy, masked the grass and
used selective color to increase the amount of green, and then
masked the sky to darken the blue. I then added in the required
design elements, gathered feedback and made final revisions.
