T. divides the class into groups of 4. T


gives each group a set of cards. T tells
them to lay all the cards out on the table
random. T explains that the larger ones
are adjectives and the smaller ones
preposition.
Ss try to match the cards so each
adjective collocates a preposition. Ss make
sentences with the collocations. The group
that finishes first is the winner.
T makes enough copies of the
worksheet to provide for each pair of Ss.
T asks ss to work in pairs. T gives each

pair a bingo card. T reads out adjectives in


the list below quickly ( dont read out the
prepositions). When they have completed
their card they shout Bingo!
T asks the winning pair to read out the
adjectives +prepositions together to the
rest of the class so that they can check
their answers. The first pair to complete a
card correctly is the winner.
If no S has completed a card when the T
has finished reading the list, then T goes
back to the beginning and reads the
adjectives again. Once the activity has
been completed, T asks Ss to complete the
gapped sentences using an adjective
+preposition.
T puts the word decide on the board. T
asks Ss whether it is a noun, a verb or an
adjective. T asks them what the other
forms of the word are and writes them on
the board. (noun: decision; adjective:
decisive)
T reminds Ss about the suffixes they
learnt.
T gives out worksheets. T asks the Ss to
work in pairs to complete the table in
activity 1. T checks the answers by
drawing the table on the board and asking
Ss to come and write up their answers.
T asks Ss to do activity 2 in pairs. T
checks the answers orally.
T asks Ss to complete activity 3
wordsquare in pairs by circling the words.
They then complete the sentences in
activity 4. The first pair to finish is the
winner.
