What:? Asthma Educational Training for Healthcare Providers
Logistics:
Below are the dates and locations to choose from. Each training will offer 2.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits as
well as 2.0 hours nursing credit. Registration will begin at 6:00 pm and the training will begin promptly at 6:30
pm and conclude at 8:30 pm.
Purpose of Training:
To provide Louisiana Healthcare Providers with tools as outlined by the NAEPP National Guidelines for the Diag-
nosis and Management of Asthma
“Diagnosis and Management of Asthma”

Purpose: The purpose of this healthcare provider training session is to provide the state’s highly
qualified healthcare providers and nurses with tools as provided by the NAEPP Expert Panel
Review Guidelines for managing asthma long term and for managing exacerbations around four
essential components of asthma care, namely: assessment and monitoring, patient education, control
of factors contributing to asthma severity, and pharmacologic treatment.
The training will provide physicians and nurses with tools to take away from the session that will
assist in establishing a partnership between the clinician and the person who has asthma (and the
caregiver, for children) is required for effective asthma management while emphasizing the four
components of asthma care which are:

Note: Each training is limited to 50 participants. Your registration must be received no later
than one week prior to the training.
Office of Public Health Continuing Medical Education Program is
accredited by the Louisiana State Medical Society to provide continuing medical
education for physicians.
Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their
participation in the activity.
