Create a variety of dramatic, glittery

focal points like those shown here
using a combination of striking
beads, pendants, and interchangeable stick bails. A subtly
sparkly, modified daisy-chain
strap works up in an evening and provides an allpurpose background for
all of the pendants you
can dream up.

For a two-in-one design, use a second

T-shaped stick bail to form a second
pendant. The variation shown here uses
2 black diamond 6mm crystal bicones,
1 crystal silver shade 2413.5mm
crystal Galactic bead, 1 sterling
silver 23mm peace-symbol
pendant, and 2 silver
83mm rondelles.

1) Pendant. Use the stick to string

1 bicone, 1 rondelle, the beaded round,
1 rondelle, and the dichroic round; form
a simple loop. Use the head pin to string
1 jet seed bead, the Venetian glass coin,
1 rondelle, and 1 bicone; form a wrapped
loop that attaches to the simple loop of
the stick.
2) Strap. Use daisy chain to form the

strap of the choker:

Place a bead stop 6" from the end
of 6' of thread. String 8 gray/brown
seed beads. Pass through the first seed
bead strung to form a loop. String
1 clear seed bead (Fig. 1a) and bring the
thread diagonally across the loop; pass
back through the fifth, fourth, third,
and second seed beads strung. Continue passing back through beads
around the loop to exit the fifth seed
bead strung at the bottom of the daisy
(Fig. 1b).

Fig. 1: Working Unit 1

String 6 gray/brown seed beads

and pass through the last 2 seed beads
exited in the previous unit. String
1 clear seed bead and bring the thread
diagonally across the loop; pass back
through the fourth, third, second, and
first seed beads added in this unit.
Continue passing back through beads
around the loop to exit the third seed
bead strung for this unit at the bottom
of the daisy (Fig. 2).

Unit 2:

Fig. 2: Working Units 1 and 2

Pass back through the

second and first seed beads of the previous unit; string 1 jet seed bead (Fig. 3a).
Pass through the next 6 seed beads of
Unit 1 to exit the other side of the
strap, from the seventh seed bead
added in Unit 1; string 1 jet seed bead
(Fig. 3b). Weave through beads to exit
the third seed bead strung in Unit 2 at
the bottom of the daisy (Fig. 3c).
Units 3 and on: Repeat Unit 2 and the edge
embellishment eighty-three times or
until the desired length is reached.

3) Finishing. Create a closure on the

end of the strap:
Clasp loop: String 20 gray/brown seed
beads and pass through the last 2 seed
beads exited in the final unit to form a
loop; repeat the thread path to reinforce. Secure the thread. Add a drop
of cement to the knot and allow to dry
before trimming the thread.
Star toggle: Remove the bead stop and
attach the needle to the tail thread.
String 3 gray/brown seed beads, the
star, and 1 gray/brown seed bead. Pass
back through the star and the 3 gray/
brown seed beads to form a toggle.
Weave through Unit 1, repeating the
thread path, to reinforce. Secure the
thread. Add a drop of cement to the
knot and allow to dry before trimming
the thread.
Pendant: Use one end of the strap to
string the bail. Insert the T-shaped top
of the pendant into the bottom of
the bail. F
