Greater Bendigo Wellbeing Survey 5

2015

Introduction
The purpose of the Greater Bendigo Wellbeing Survey was to begin a story about the
opportunities and challenges that face our region. This is the third Wellbeing Survey which
continues the story about how the community is fairing over time, identifying strengths and
vulnerabilities of different areas in Greater Bendigo.
The survey is a snapshot in time that is representative of the community, and the
circumstances that were relevant around the time of the survey will also be reflected in these
results. Comments received that did not relate to the survey questions have not been
presented in this data.
The Greater Bendigo Wellbeing Survey will enable the City, State and Federal governments,
organisations, community groups and businesses to identify the aspects of our community
that strengthen wellbeing, and those areas where there are vulnerabilities in the community.
This evidence will enable planning, programs and services to be prioritised and other actions
taken that can make measurable improvements to the communitys quality of life over time.
Building a healthier, more resilient community and region, is the best way to strengthen our
communities and neighbourhoods, making them great places of opportunity for people of all
ages and backgrounds, in a rapidly changing economic and environmental world.
