In Modern days there are thousands of bikes running on the road. There
is thorough competition between the companies of the manufacturing different
types of mechanism. On the other hand percentage of accidents also increase
therefore every company try to find cause of accidents and eliminate the cause.
However, there is one problem, which is unsolved up to present day. The problem
is "Accident cause Jue to uplifted side stand". During driving very time due to
early, forcedness or any other such reasons, rider forgets to lift the side stand.
This may cause various serious accidents. There is very necessary to have an
arrangement in the hike to pi-event the accidents.
Some companies try to solve this problem but they get success in
certain extent.
motorcycle rear stand has a list price at the date of publication that hasn't changed
from the original version; it's still only $114.99.
HISTORY
helps you, don't forget to warn them not to touch the hot exhaust pipe, not
to lift by the turn signals, etc. Also make sure they lift correctly. You don't
want some one else getting hurt.
Step2: Assessthe Environment
If you are in danger from other traffic, get away from your motorcycle
and seek a place of safety. Let law enforcement respond and take control of
the scene before picking up your motorcycle. Take a look at the ground: do
you have a solid surface to lift from? Is there gravel? Is the pavement wet?
Are you right next to a ditch? You don't want to slip and get pinned under
your
bike.
3. Find the "balance point" of the two tires and the engine, engine guard,
or footpeg. The motorcycle will be fairly easy to lift until it reaches this
point because it's resting on its side. Once you start lifting from there,
you are responsible for the most of the weight of the bike.
4. "Sit" down with your butt/lower back against the motorcycle seat. Be
very careful to keep your back straight and your head up. Put your
feet solidly on the ground about 12 inches apart, with your knees bent
slightly.
5. With one hand, grasp the handgrip (underhand, preferably), keeping
your wrist straight.
6. With your other hand, grip the motorcycle framework (or any solid
part of the motorcycle), being careful to avoid the hot exhaust pipe,
turn signals, etc.
7.
Lift with your legs by taking small steps backwards, pressing against
the seat with your butt and keeping your back straight. On slippery or
gravellysurfaces this technique probably won't work. On inclined
surfaces this can be very dangerous.
8.
Be careful not to lift the motorcycle up and then flip it onto its other
side! If possible, put the sidestand down and the bike in gear.

AVAILABLE MECHANISM
Motorcycle Lift
The basic concept is to slide the lift under the motorcycle, lock the two
revolving rear wheels and slowly jack up the bike by pressing on the foot pedal
that operates the hydraulic jack. There are two vinyl coated parallel lifting
surfaces that contact the underside of the bike or engine and lift straight up. They
don't lift in a precisely vertical plane; there is some sideways movement, but it's
to lift a motorcycle, it's for some heavy work, like removing the front tire or forks.
After trying the lift under a couple of motorcycles, I'm not convinced that it
will hold a motorcycle steady enough to perform anything other than very light
maintenance. The bikes just seem too unsteady and the balance point is too
sensitive.
I can easily rock a motorcycle back and forth or side to side when it's on the
lift, so I would certainly expect it to fall over backwards if, for example, the weight
of the front tire is removed.
I don't think the Triumph could be successfully balanced on the lift without
the front wheel, because the engine is not wide enough front to back to allow the
lift to be relocated to account for the lighter weight. There's only one location
where the lift will fit, and it doesn't take much to unbalance the bike when it's
raised.
The two vinyl coated parallel lift surfaces are 13-1/4" wide to the outer
edges, and each flat is 2-1/2" wide. This means that if your engine is shorter (front
to back) than the lifting surfaces are wide, there many not be any leeway for
adjusting the position of the lift to stabilize the bike under various weighting
scenarios.
My opinion is that a motorcycle on this lift may not be safe enough to
perform anything other than light maintenance. For example, the front axle nuts on
the Triumph take some muscle to remove, and that kind of jerking around could
upset the balance. Your fear factor may vary; I'm conservative when it comes to
working around heavy machinery.
Conclusion
My opinion is that the product is definitely not a replacement for a proper
motorcycle table lift, nor is it a replacement for a rear swingarm stand. It does
work better on motorcycles with frame rails underneath, like those found on most
cruisers. However, the potential problem of side-to-side and front-to-back balance
still exists. The motorcycles we tried just seem too unbalanced for me to feel
comfortable.
I'm not sure what types of maintenance jobs the lift is designed for. An oil
change, perhaps, or maybe to clean the wheels?
Editor's Note:
Many cruisers have double-cradle frames, which work much better with
the Sears lift because the bike sits on the lift via the frames looping under the
engine. Motorcycles without frames looping under the engine have a much smaller
surface to sit on the lift; in some cases, the entire motorcycle must be balanced on
its oil pan. This can cause an unstable platform for serious work. However, once
the bike is off the ground I was comfortable working on the bike, although mindful
of the big picture. Most recently I removed my rear wheel/hub/driveshaft/fender
while using the lift. Worked great. Incidentally. there is no rule book associated
with this lift so that said, I added additional load carrying/stabilizing components
(more wood) to steady the bike (photos below). Weighing the significant factors I
believe this lift is the best bang for the buck."

IMPORTANT:
You must ensure that the lower swivel is under the CENTER of each fork,
and not on the edge. You want to be sure that the fork does not slip off to the front
when you apply pressure to lift.
Once the swivels are centered under each fork, slowly and carefully press
down the handle to lift the front. As with the rear, the stand handle is lowered to the
ground, and the motorcycle should be secure with the front wheel slightly off the
ground, providing easy access for wheel removal or the installation of tire
warmers.Once both the rear and the front are lifted on stands, the motorcycle is
very secure and both wheels are elevated. When removing the stands, remember to
remove the front stand first (again, the rear stand is okay to use alone, but the front
stand should never be used without the rear already in place).
Tips & Warnings There are a wide variety of stand types, with various types
of devices to lift the bike, handles in front vs. rear, etc. Shop around for a style that
suits your taste and works well with your bike.
Front stands that lift the bike from under the steering head must have pins
that are sized and angled specifically for your motorcycle. Be sure you purchase
and use the proper steering pin for your bike.
Always secure the bike with the rear stand before you use the front stand.
The motorcycle will not be stable with the front stand alone.
If you are just getting used to your stands or feeling a bit uneasy trying to
position and lift the bike while supporting it, don't be shy about asking for a hand.
In track paddocks, we all help each other all the time. You can manage it on your
own, but it's easier (and safer) if you have a second set of hands.
MARKET RESEARCH
CUSTOMER NEED:
NEED the word, which has given to inversion, discoveries, hard work and ideas
from the delay living organism, are known to exist. This is to be thing that made living
organism adopt to changes for their own interest.
The seam in the case with selecting the project. But thinking like some engineers of
today's are took it in the board sense calling it of customer need of which we also are a
part. 'A rider never is in difficulty until and unless he himself caught into it.
*
The need of prevention of rider from this type of condition, which is happened
many times. Hence, it is important to create something or one mechanism, which
prevents the rider from that accident. Moreover, the mechanism should be such that it
ghould neither affect the original mechanism nor create some new problems. In addition,
it should not increase the price of the bike. It is just small mechanism, which operates the
stand, and the operation should be so difficult.
Thus, the design is such that the customer need it fulfills to its best point can be
pushed easily and can be operate simply.
MARKET RESEARCH :
The recognizing the real of the customer are decided to continue work in that
direction. Therefore, use confirms our project to design such a side stands lifter,
which will fulfill the customer, buys the product from the market. Moreover, the
designer and the producer both are affiliated to the changes and the requirements in
the market. It consists of two parts, i.e. before introducing the market and after
introducing the product in the market. The latter is called marketing and the
previous is called market research. After selecting the side stand lifter as our
project, we thought that this reality a customer need for this use. So, we decided to
go for the research in the market, without satisfying the customer need designer or
manufacturer or whoever can make a successful product. Market .research 13 the

necessary whether already such type of side stand lifter exist in the market. In that
view, we visited different show rooms in our city. To our expectations, there was
none of side stand lifter even a single percent similar to our idea.

A foot-operated motorcycle lift stand. The cyclist drives the motorcycle over the
lift stand in its lowermost compact position. While manually steadying the
motorcycle, the cyclist actuates a foot lever to shift the stand platform into lifting
engagement with the undercarriage of the motorcycle by means of legs which
pivotally secure the platform to a base and which, in motion, describe a
parallelogram. The foot lever pivots from its position adjacent one of the legs of
the stand to an upstanding position, where additional foot pressure creates a turning
moment to shift the legs and platform to a stable raised position. The cyclist's
hands are then free to secure the lift stand with positive locking means which lock
the stand in place. When not in use, the lift stand can be conveniently stored in an
upright position whereby edges of the platform and base provide stable resting
means.

11. In a stationary four-legged parallelogram type rectangular motorcycle lift stand
having means to raise said lift stand from a substantially horizontal compact mode
to a substantially upstanding mode, the improvement comprising: a one-piece footoperated lever having one free end, and having a cantilevered end pivotally secured
to one leg of said four-legged lift stand, said foot lever, when said lift stand is in a

cantilevered end from a position folded onto said lift stand to an upright position
beyond dead center, substantially normal to said lift stand with said pivoted end in
abutting contact with the lower end of said one leg of said four-legged lift stand,
wherein foot pressure against said free end of said foot lever, when in upright
kickstand.
The second kind of motorcycle, sometimes referred to as a "dirt track bike,"
is commonly used off highways in cross country competitive events wherein the
entire bike may be airborne for short periods, thereafter striking the ground with
considerable impact. With this kind of hard use, there is always the danger that a
kickstand will become dislodged from its horizontal position upon impact, or that
some object on the ground will snag the kickstand, causing injury to the rider
and/or to the bike. For this reason, dirt track bikes are not usually equipped with
kickstand parking devices.
In lieu of kickstands for dirt track bikes, prior art devices in the form of separate
stands have been devised which engage the midsection of the undercarriage of the
dirt track bike. These prior art devices include means to extend the stand vertically
so as to lift one or both bike wheels from the ground. Saunois essentially comprises
a lower rectangular platform pivotally connected to an upper rectangular platform
by four legs secured to the four corners of each platform to provide a
parallelogram-type connection between the upper and the lower platforms. One leg
extends vertically above the upper platform to act as a hand lever to raise and to
lower the upper platform. One of the problems associated with this design is that it
requires the cyclist to steady the bike with one hand while gripping the lever with
the other hand in order to raise the upper platform into lifting engagement with the
bike. In addition, the design requires the use of the cyclist's weaker back and arm
muscles. Applicant's invention, on the other hand, enables the cyclist to steady the
bike with both hands while raising a platform with a novel foot-operable lever,
using the stronger, more efficient muscles of the leg.
