Math 7-12 Lesson Example:
Students will view 3 minute video reviewing concept from last class using Edpuzzle on personal device. Teacher found video in Edpuzzle's search function and added one vocabulary question and one math problem question for students to solve. Teacher can see results in real time as students finish. Teacher asks students for any questions or clarification of the problem in the video. Teacher reviews the day's lesson objective and demonstrates new concept using white board or smart board. Students may follow along taking notes in their notebook or on their device. Teacher asks students to visit the Padlet site he or she has created. The teacher uses his or her Padlet account to make a personalized Padlet address that is easy for students to type in the URL bar. Students will use Padlet to answer a question that asks students to explain the steps to solving the problem. Teacher can easily see which students get the concept and which students took a while to explain the steps. Teacher assigns practice problems to the majority of the class using an Edmodo quiz. Students will show their work in a journal, but may submit answers within Edmodo's quiz feature. The students who seem to need extra help (judging by the Padlet responses) may either be pulled aside by the teacher for one-on-one re-explanation, or may be assigned a tutorial video to view using Edmodo. The teacher is able to send the video to individual students or a small group. Students may move on to the practice problems when they feel ready. Since students are logged into Edmodo, the teacher posts a note on his or her feed asking students to use the Internet to find one real world example of how the problem can be used to solve something. Students write a quick summary and may post a link as a "reply" on the teacher's post.
