There are two ways to partner with us. Both simple, both supportedboth proven to
be successful.
Convert an existing business to New Horizons: If you represent an existing IT training
business, the New Horizons brand brings with it a wealth of benefits unobtainable to most
small, independent operators.
Start a brand new New Horizons training centre: For companies ready to add IT training to
your service offering or entrepreneurs ready for business ownership in the IT training sector,

In 1980, the company founder, Mike Brinda, began teaching people who
wanted to learn how to use personal computers at a community college.
The first IBM personal computer came out in 1981 and Mike saw the
interest in his classes greatly increased.
So, in 1982 with true American entrepreneurial spirit, Mike decided that
he would mortgage his house and open a school in a shopping centre in
Laguna Hills Mall.
The core focus in the beginning was to simply educate individuals who
wanted to learn how to use the Personal Computer. In 1985, the company
began to offer more technical training and, by 1992, further additions to
its course offerings enabled nationwide expansion.
INTERNATIONAL IT
In 1994 we became the largest network of Microsoft
Authorized Technical Education Centers, expanding
into South America, Asia, Africa and the Middle East.
VIRTUAL IT
In 1998 we opened our virtual doors with the
introduction of Online LIVE virtual instructor-led
training.
HOT GROWTH
In 2001 Business Week added us to its list of 100
Hot Growth Companies.
ANNIVERSARY
In 2012 New Horizons celebrated our 30th
anniversary cementing our place as global leaders in
the IT training industry.
GLOBAL RECOGNITION
In 2015 New Horizons was awarded VMWARE

QUALITY CHECK
What we actually look for
We look for candidates who are commercially and financially qualified to develop
and support a single training centre or a network of training centres within their
territory. At this level of business, were looking for high-calibre ongoing organizations and
individuals who are commercially driven, with solid local business knowledge and a desire
to dominate the local market.
In an ideal world our franchisees would all have management experience to grow a
successful business, with the skills you would naturally expect to accompany such an
organization or individual: sales, team leadership, operational management etc. Prior
ownership of a business is highly desirable but not mandatory.
What many people dont realise is that whilst a basic understanding of the industry and
a level of technology knowledge would be beneficial, these skills are secondary to basic
business acumen!
