The Windows will display a message "This driver is not digitally signed!" every time you click OK. The
message is inevitable because the binary files generated when the WDK constructs environments are not
signed.
In the Network Connections window, a new network connection is generated with the device
name Sample MUX-IM Virtual Miniport Driver. If your computer has two NICs, two new
network connections will be generated.

Step 3 In the Sample MUX-IM Virtual Miniport Driver Properties dialog box, click the
Advanced tab and set the Value of VLAN ID.
Each FO NE has been allocated a default VLAN ID before being delivered. The FO NE can
be managed only when the VLAN ID is set to the default VLAN ID allocated for the FO NE.
When the VLAN ID is set to 0, the function of carrying VLAN IDs in packets is disabled for
TCP packets sent by the NIC of the computer.
When the VLAN ID is set to a non-0 value, the function of carrying VLAN IDs in packets is
enabled.

III. Setting the IP Address of the Sample MUXIM Virtual Miniport Driver
The service port on an FO NE has a factory default IP address (and a factory default VLAN
ID). To manage FO NEs using the Web LCT, the IP address of Sample MUX-IM Virtual
Miniport Driver must be in the same network segment with that of the FO service port.
Assume the IP address of the FO service port is 130.9.6.22. Then, you can set the IP address
of the Sample MUX-IM Virtual Miniport Driver to 130.9.6.23.
