Acknowledgement

The present work is an effort to throw some light on Consumer Buying Behaviour for
Hero Motobikes. The work would not have been possible to come to the present shape
without able guidance, supervision and help to me by number of people.

With deep sense of gratitude I acknowledged the encouragement and guidance received by
my research guide Dr. Renu Sharma. She assisted me in completion of this research project.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

The Indian two-wheeler industry is dominated by three players, Bajaj, Hero Motor Corp and
TVS Suzuki, who account for 80 percent of the total two-wheeler market. The other players
including Kinetic Engineering, LML and others account for the remaining 20 percent of the
market. The industry can be divided into three broad segments: Scooters, motorcycles and
mopeds. In the scooters segment Bajaj is the market leader, Hero Motor Corp is the market
leader in the motorcycles segment and in the segment of mopeds, TVS controls the major
chunk of the market.
In this project there are four chapters:
Chapter-I consist of introduction, profile of the organisation, objectives and scope of study.
Hero MotoCorp Ltd. (Formerly Hero Honda Motors Ltd.) is the world's largest manufacturer
of two wheelers, based in India.
In 2001, the Company achieved the coveted position of being the largest two-wheeler
manufacturing Company in India and also, the World No.1 two-wheeler Company in terms
of unit volume sales in a calendar year. Hero MotoCorp Ltd. continues to maintain this
position till date.

Chapter-II consists of Research methodology. It contains the method used and sample
design selected in order to conduct consumer survey.
Chapter-III consists of Data presentation and analysis. It consist of tables and graphical
presentation of data (their satisfaction level regarding Hero MotoCorp Ltd.) received by the
customers.
Chapter-IV consists of summary and conclusion. It consists of a brief summary of the
project and limitation of the study and suggestion to improve it.
