Insulation against vibration

LASTOTRELA

Highly effective, noise-absorbing staircase bearings,

for insertion between staircases and their pedestals.

The principle
Impact noise caused by footsteps is a specific form of
structurally transmitted noise. It is radiated through the air
over a broad area from solid structural elements, and often
causes unwanted noise emissions in the stairwells of
residential and office buildings. LASTOTRELA staircase
bearings have proved capable of suppressing this noise
effectively if applied to the stairs. The LASTObitrapezoidal core that they contain achieves a 93%
insulating effect at 100Hz excitation and a reduction of up
to 28dB in impact noise.
LASTOTRELA has a special cross-section with lower
dynamic stiffness than a homogeneous bearing material.
Long-term dynamic response is significantly better than
that of composite materials, and the full function is
retained throughout the buildings life-cycle.

Installation on pedestals

Core: LASTObi-trapezoidal insulation

Application areas
LASTOTRELA is used for prefabricated stairs and
pedestals
in
various
dimensions
and
patterns.
LASTOISOTRITT, also available from us, is suitable for
installation in riser walls, or for less severe loads, the
LASTOS pin.

Staircase bearings for stair weights above 5,000 kg are available on request.

Installation procedure

Laying stairs on LASTOTRELA

LASTOTRELA staircase bearings are supplied ready for installation and

must not be opened.
The staircase bearing must rest on a flat surface; failing this, a smooth
mortar surface must be applied first.
If the staircase bearing is applied previously to prefabricated stairs, we
recommend the use of our installation tape.
If the stairs are of concrete cast in situ, the intervening spaces and joint
gaps of the LASTOTRELA staircase bearings should be filled and
covered to prevent concrete from entering.
A rigid connection must be avoided, since the spring action of the bearing
must always be maintained.
