Safety Instructions
Read safety instructions unconditionally before first putting LCD board into operation and before any service
work.
Attention:
The five safety rules unconditionally have to be observed:
1.
2.
3.
4.
5.
6.
For correct connection of the board to main power and data bus the VDE specifications
especially EN60950 (VDE0805), VDE 0100, VDE 0800 and the instructions of the local electric
power companies have to be observed.
Take care of power consumption and nominal voltage that are declared at the name plate
(placed near power input).
Before any service work switch main power off and make sure that the power cannot be
switched on during service work. Service and putting in operation of the board only has to be
done by special instructed specialists. The special Instructions for work with ESD
components have to be observed.
Electrics and electronics components must not be exchanged when main power is switched
on.
Service and putting in operation of the board only has to be done by special instructed
specialists.
The special Instructions for work with ESD components have to be observed.

LCD modules contain liquid crystal material in small amounts (<1mm / cm LCD area)
At undamaged LCDs is the possibility of cuts due to the edges of the LCD.
At damaged LCD modules is the possibility of contact with the liquid crystal material. In case
of contact with liquid crystal material wash exposed skin thoroughly with soap and water.
Defective electronics components or LCD modules have to be disposed according to the
local specifications for electronic waste EAV-Nr. 1602 16

At the last module driver of each line a terminating element AE-MTx is plugged to the output connector X2. Via
the terminating element the signals data output of the last LCD, switching rate of LCD and the LCD voltage are
looped back to the line decoder. If one of these signals is not correct, the line in question will be switched off
and the control electronics will send an error message to the host if the module driver is used in connection
with an AEG MIS line decoder.
