After completion of the job, close all valves
except cooling valve

Normalize the accelerator

Close the cooling valve
14
Enter in cabin, disengage the PTO lever & 2nd.

Check the air in air pressure gauge if required

Check water level in water tank

Stop the engine

Close the cooling valve
Enter in cabin, disengage the PTO lever & 2nd.

H. After Use.

Light Mast

Light Mast :
1

It can be used while fire fighting & rescue operations during night time where the
illumination is poor as explained in DOC. No.FR/EQP/32/13 & 14.

control

Pull the generator to out

Take out the Cable Remote Control

After completion of the job, press down mark on
remote & ensure that the light robot sited
properly

ITEM:

MULTI PURPOSE TENDER (MPT) - CO2 BANK

The CO2 extinguishing media is useful on B, C and electrical fires. It


consists 6nos, 22.5 kg cylinders. They can operable from locker no.4 & 10 of
MPT i.e., either side of the vehicle. .DOC. No.FR/EQP/32/13 & 14.

Open the header valve
Remove safety pin of cylinder
Open the cylinder valve in anti clock direction
one by one according to the situation demand
After completion of the job close the header

Wind up the hose on CO2 reel
Re insert the safety pin to used cylinder (S)
After returning to Fire Station replace the used
cylinders with full cylinders
The cylinder capacity is less than 10% no need
for replacement
Record the same in concern records
Cylinders shall be hydro tested for every 5
years according to Gas cylinder Rules-2004

ITEM:

MULTI PURPOSE TENDER (MPT) - DCP Extinguisher (s)

The Dry Chemical Powder extinguishing media is useful on B, C and


electrical fires. It consists 2 nos, 50 kg cylinders and CO 2 gas cylinder in locker
No.4 &10 i.e., either side of the MPT. 2 Kg. CO2 cylinder provided to each
cylinder as a pillet cylinder. They can operable from locker no.4 & 10 of MPT i.e.,
either side of the vehicle. .DOC. No.FR/EQP/32/13 & 14.

Direct the DCP on the seat of fire
If the fire is in confined space, close the
windows
Wear B.A. Set & follow buddy system with life
line.
After extinguishing the fire close pillet CO2
cylinder valve
Re-fix the safety pin to pillet CO2 cylinder
Coil the discharge hose
Return to Fire Station
Refill the DCP in cylinder & replace the CO2
cylinder with full.
If the CO2 is less than 10% no need to replace.

MULTI PURPOSE TENDER (MPT) 35 FEETS ALUMINIUM EXTENSTION


LADDER

It is mounted on the top of the MPT and secured in gallows with locking
provision to prevent fall down while the MPT is in motion. It is widely using for fire
fighting, Rescue operations, first floor ladder, improvised structure, used as
bridge between two buildings, to ascending & dis- ascending to top floor, ship
holds, confined spaces, basements, step ladder, to use in 4 men extension
ladder drill and to make water dam.

Combi tool is provided in each MPT for lifting, cutting and spreading
purpose in case of an emergency.

Keep the exhaust blower near to the scene


To take fresh air in to the confined area the
kerosene tank side duct should be kept inside of
confined space.
To exhaust the confined air into fresh air, the
petrol tank side duct should be inside & the
kerosene side duct should be out side
Start the engine by pulling the rope
After start, wait for few seconds and switch over
to kerosene running
After completion of the job, select the switch on
stop mark.
Safely remove the ducts, clean them roll and
stowed in safe place
Thoroughly clean the exhaust blower with dry
cloth
Top up the fuel
Any deficiency observed report to shift-in-charge

Carry the extinguisher


Stay upwind direction
Approach the fire & stand at the safe distance
Pull the safety pin
Hold the discharge grip by hand & hold the
discharge valve with other hand
Open the valve slowly but fully in anti clock wise
direction
Sweep the discharge horn side to side as you
approach the fire directly the extinguishing
media at the base of the flame until the flames
appear to be out.
Watch the fire area closely & if fire restarts
repeat the above process.
If the fire is enclosed place cover your nose
with hand cut chief/ don B.A.Set
After extinguishing the fire ensure proper cross
ventilation
Ensure the valve is closed properly & put the
safety pin
Handed over the extinguisher for maintenance
& further action

DRY CHEMICAL POWDER TYPE FIRE EXTINGUISHER (S)


Carry the extinguisher
Stand upwind direction
Approach the fire & stand at the safe
distance
Hold the squeeze grip nozzle, operate it &
ensure that it is not used before
The operator shall keep his face safe from
extinguisher cap
Pull the safety clip
Strike the knob with other hand
Aim the discharge at the base of fire
Sweep the discharge hose side to side as
you approach the fire & direct the
extinguishing media on the base of fire until
the fire appear to be out
If the fire is closed room, close all doors &

Aim the discharge at the edge of the
container and strike the knob
Apply extinguish media at the edge of the
container so that foam will float on the
burning surface

windows

degrees angle

Lift the extinguisher and apply the media on
the seat of the fire
According to convenient the operator can
extinguish the fire by moving any direction
If the fire is closed room, close all doors &
windows

HIGH EXPANSION FOAM GENERATOR

OPERATING PROCEDURE
Connect delivery hose between hydrant and
hydrant to tank
Open the tank to pump foam valve
Select the Foam selector valve according to
foam concentration percentage
Connect the discharge outlet of the pump to
foam inlet of Hi-expansion foam generator inlet
using delivery hose
Increase the pump pressure up to 7kg/cm2
Open the delivery valve slowly but fully
Direct the Hi-expansion foam at desired place
After completion of the job close the foam
selector valve, delivery valve
Normalize the throttle.
Disconnect the foam generator connection
Wash thoroughly foam generator and concerned
equipments with fresh water

OPERATING PROCEDURE
Connect delivery hose pipe to auxiliary
connection.
Dip the pickup tube in foam drum
Select the Foam selector valve according to
foam concentration percentage
Buildup the pressure up to 7kg/cm2
Increase the pump pressure up to 7kg/cm2 in the
pump
Connect the delivery hose between pump and
HX foam generator
Direct the Hi-expansion foam at desired place
After completion of the job close the foam
selector valve, delivery valve
Normalize the throttle.
Disconnect the foam generator connection and
other connections
Wash thoroughly foam generator and concerned
equipments with fresh water

OPERATING PROCEDURE
Took the monitor and place on equal hard
surface
Lay delivery hose across front legs within 10 feet
diameter hose loop minimum and give input
pressure.
Tighten the belts on hose
Maximum flow is 375 GPM
The minimum pressure required 10kg/cm2
Select discharge rate then adjust the nozzle as
per demand i.e., spray or jet
Put the button on ON condition for oscillating
Depend up on the requirement set the
adjustment levers for oscillation
Normalize the throttle.
After completion of the job, normalize the
pressure and normalize the above procedure
Wash thoroughly and clean. Stowed at
designated place.
