Bugsy Malone

Bugsy Malone is based on the hit 1976 film of the same name. It
features a catchy score by the composer of The Muppet Movie.
The original London production opened in 1983 at Her Majesty's
Theatre and ran for 300 performances.
Set in the 1920s the story follows two rival gangs. Dandy Dan's
gang has gotten the upper hand since obtaining the "splurge" gun
(a weapon that shoots whip cream). Fat Sam and his bumbling
buffoons are in real trouble! Bugsy Malone, a one-time boxer, is
pushed into the gangster limelight, when he becomes the last
chance Fat Sam's gang has of surviving. All Bugsy really wants to
do is spend time with his new love Blousey.

Annie

Annie is based on Harold Gray's popular comic strip Little Orphan
Annie. The musical opened on Broadway in 1977. Annie was made
into an Oscar-nominated feature film in 1982.
Set in the 1930s Annie is determined to find her parents who
abandoned her years ago on the doorstep of a New York City
Orphanage run by the cruel Miss Hannigan. Annie escapes the
orphanage and experiences adventure after fun-filled adventure,
Annie foils Miss Hannigan's evil plans and even befriends President
Franklin Delano Roosevelt. She finds a new home and family in
billionaire Oliver Warbucks, his personal secretary Grace, and a
lovable dog named Sandy.

Matilda

Based on Matilda by Roald Dahl
Matilda opened on the West End in 2011 at the Cambridge
Theatre and its Broadway premiere was on 11 April 2013 at
the Shubert Theatre. Matilda won seven 2012 Olivier Awards,
including Best New Musical and five Tony Awards.
The story follows Matilda, a 5-year-old girl who loves reading.
Despite her family not caring about her and wishing she was a boy,
Matilda becomes a star pupil at school and discovers she has a
special talent she can move objects with her eyes! Matilda helps
her teacher, Miss Honey, win back her house and defeats the
terrible Miss Trunchball.

The Sound of Music is based on the memoir of Maria von
Trapp, The Story of the Trapp Family Singers. The show opened on
Broadway in 1959. It won 5 Tony Awards. It was made into a film
in starring Julie Andrews.
The Sound of Music is about a young woman called Maria who
wishes to become a nun. Maria is sent to Captain Von Trapp where
she becomes governess to his seven mischievous children. She
wins the childrens hearts through song and kindness and
eventually marries Captain Von Trapp despite many obstacles
including an oncoming war.
