REFLECTION

The integration of technology in the school setting have increase over the years, which I believe
has helped both teacher and students. Not being an average user of technology it was very
difficult for me to manipulate the different gadgets and softwares used in this course, it was
challenging at time but I have learnt different ways that I can integrate technology into my
classroom that will improve the teaching and learning process. Having student engaged in the
teaching and learning process has been a challenged for me during my teaching practicum,
however through this course I have learnt many different ways of incorporating technology some
of which include creating webquest, wikia, interactive powerpoint and brochure which is used to
further enlighten student knowledge on any topic.
Through this course I was exposed to the different technological devices that can be used to
teach lessons so that students may be more engaged and also aid in teachers being more
facilitators in the learning environment. The course involves using technology in the classroom
to enhance the teaching and learning method. Throughout the tenure of this course, it became
more evident that Instructional technology is "the theory and practice of design, development,
utilization, management, and evaluation of processes and resources for learning. We were also
exposed to the ISTEs Nets are the standards which is used for evaluating the skills and
knowledge educators need to teach, work, and learn in an increasingly connected global and
digital society.
This course also help me to understand that having educational interactive activities will improve
a higher level of learning in students who are exposed to technology, I have proven this to be
true, based on the presentations and group teaching lessons done in class, as I can remember
most of the videos, songs and demonstration done by group members during the team teaching
presentation. Technology has changed how and what our students learn. The NETS set a standard

of excellence and best practices in learning, teaching, and leading with technology in education.
Using the International society for technology in education and the National Educational
technology standards ISTE NETS, will help me to become an effective teacher who will model
and apply the National Educational Technology Standards for Students (NETS) as they design,
implement, and assess learning experiences to engage students and improve learning; enrich
professional practice; and provide positive models for students, colleagues, and the community.
As a teacher who possess the skills of digital aged profession I will use what I have learn to
create an interactive, educational and fun way of imparting knowledge to students through the
use of technology.
