Dear Sir or Madam:
I write this letter on enthusiastically on behalf of Alexandria Flores. Alexandria was a student of mine very
briefly during the summer session of 2016. During this short period of time, I had the pleasure of observing this
bright and determined young woman achieve her goals. She is an organized, exacting student capable of great
success. Alexandria meets challenges a thoughtful confidence that assures others that she will do what she says
she will, and for this, I admire greatly.
This young woman came to Garza at the beginning of our summer session, needing to finish two courses in
order to walk the stage in AISDs August graduation. She had exactly six-weeks of instruction time to make this
happen. I met her on the day she enrolled, and before classes had even begun, she had already told me her goals,
her strengths, what she finds challenging, and asked for my advice on how she could approach the course in
order to ensure she could complete it efficiently. I was impressed with her professionalism and assertiveness
this was no ordinary high school student, easily distracted by peers and socializing. This was a young woman
who attended to school in a business-like manner. She was here to work, and while she was always kind to her
peers and maintained a genial attitude, she did not waste time.
Soon after she joined my class, she was approved to earn the credit through our Delta Program, and her
counselor, myself, and Alexandria all agreed that would be in her best interest. She transferred out of my class
and into the program the next day. The next time we chatted in the hallway (what seemed like just a few days
later, but was actually several weeks), she informed me that she was finishing all of her coursework and was
ready for the August graduation. I was elated.
Aside from being a goal-oriented go-getter, Alexandria is a gracious and pleasant young woman. Her attitude
towards her peers and teachers is polite, and she treats others with the respect she wishes to receive. In group
settings, she is a clear communicator, unafraid to state her opinion or ask questions for clarification. While she
is not an out-going person, she is not shy either. These qualities make her an ideal team-member and leader.
Alexandria Flores will be a great addition to any class, team, or professional endeavor. I feel certain that she
will be successful at any University she attends, as well as any pursuit she chooses in her adult life. It is with
delight that I recommend her for any academic or employment opportunities.
