Discuss goals, short- and long- term, and why goal-setting is an important skill
Teach students how to set goals (referring PowerPoint as aid)
Allow students to share both short- and long- term goals they have for themselves
Choose a student-produced goal that is common amongst the class
a. Is it specific, realistic, and measureable?
b. Go through the goal-setting process
Discuss how drug use can act as a barrier to achieving your goals
a. Use specific goals brought up by the class previously as examples
Have students list three goals and how drugs can negatively affect each goal
