others is that it's based on opinion. The information is reliable as it does present facts. However
the article is very opinionated and it shows with the wording of the article. This article had the
goal of informing the public.
This source is helpful due to it being a more neutral source. It gives facts more than opinion on
the 2nd amendment and its applications.,

Americas Gun Dilemma

Summary: This argument deals with the foundation upon which it sits. It gives detailed
history and background of Americas laws surrounding the 2nd amendment. It paints the picture
how the right to bear arms is embedded in our nations constitution and how its virtually
impossible to move it because, legalities and the potential threat of national security that would
ensue. It shows how the context circumstances and mindset of the founders of this country and
their reasoning the laws.
Assessment: This source is critically helpful to the understating of the foundation of the
argument. It comes as priority in the order of sources for my paper. The information is very
reliable considering the fact that it is history. The validity of the laws help shape the historical
contextualization.
Reflection: I couldnt write the paper without this particular source. This source supports the
very essence of the argument. It frames the argument that deepens your understanding of the
issue. It leaves you with firm grasp of the content, while removing strawmen.

Bernie Sanders gets his gun: Is the Second Amendment

Summary: This article displays how the right to bear arms is a right to bear arms is a right
and concern for everyone. It centers on Bernie Sanders who is a self- proclaimed Democratic
socialist who has consistently support the second amendment. It even states how he once was an
NRA candidate of choice.
Assessment: This come as an unexpected resource. It reveals how the right to bear arms is
a national concern for individuals rights, not just of those who are conservative. It is very
reliable because it comes from an unlikely supporter who is very honest about his stance on the
issues. It is both biased an unexpectedly informative.
Reflective: This source adds a variety and diversity to my argument. It provides support for
my argument by someone you would lease likely expect, while giving provoking perspective and
insight. I helps me refocus my attention to what the implications are.

Concealed Weapons
Summary: This article deals with concealed weapons and how they have negatively and

concealed weapons. It goes the extra mile and fully explores the purpose and reason we have
firearms.

weapons not just handguns. It zeroes in on the ideas of weapons as a whole. The information is

source is objective and is meant to inform.
Reflection: This source fits in well with my research because it focuses specifically on the idea
of weapon and its effects. This source is very helpful. It provides focus and details to the subject
of concealed weapons. This has informed me more about the subject and details concerning the
overall argument.

Democratic frustrations boiled over in June

Summary: This source discusses the failed attempts from progressive Democratic lawmakers to pressure the senate to pass stricter gun control laws. 100 representatives vowed to stay
in place until speaker Ryan relented and met their demands. The sit in it was successful and
ended after 13 hours. Democrats show persistence about the passion for gun control.

Assessment: This is a useful source because it displays the opposing perspective and concern
about the issue.
Reflection: This will help me provide more understanding and depth for the other side of the
argument. It shows what they are willing to do, and the steps they are willing to take reach their
goal.

This article deals with the debate about Gun Control that takes place in the House of
Representatives between both Democrats and Republicans. Democrats have been protesting and
putting the pressure on Republicans in light of last months Gay club shooting. They have
suggested that we need more background checks and more prohibited sales to those on terrorism
no- fly lists. Paul Ryan is a leading Republican rep. who says that We are not going to actually
pass legislation that infringes upon a persons constitutional rights. Ryan says that the House
will vote on a separate- larger anti-terrorism package that aims at prohibiting suspected terrorists
from getting firearms.
NBCNEWS is a well-respected and widely viewed news source. The common ideas that each
article shares with one another is that they all have opinions on the subject matter. The
information presented in the article is very reliable due to the fact that article was published on
July 6th, 2016. The article is more objective seeing as it doesn't form an opinion and presents
factual evidence on the subject matter. The goal of this article was to inform the reader on the
current state of gun control laws.
This source is good because it is a major news outlet and often times has guests of different
perspectives and opposite opinions, to give incite.

Goldberg, Jeffrey. Gun Ownership with Stricter Controls Could Reduce Violence
This article engages the level of Gun violence by comparing and contrasting the individuals
who are criminal and carry illegally. It illustrates through an abundance of facts how registered
carriers could decrease the level of Gun violence. It gives comparisons to the countries with
similar and non-similar and Gun laws and how these laws have effected their country and
societies. It presents research and research and discover from several on a university, economic,
statistic, etc...
The source is very useful because it presents evidence that cant be the denied. It fits very well
the sources in my biography because it places the burden of proof on the opposing side or view.
The information is very reliable because it presents information and arguments accurately from

the opposing side. I would say that say this is definitely biased. The goal of the source is to
convince or persuade.
This fits in very well with the overall mood and thrust for my research. It articulates the overall
argument well. It understands both of the arguments well. It presents their best points. It presents
an overwhelming amount information to the issue and make its for my contribution to argument.

Face it: Guns Are Here to Stay!!!

Summary: The articles chimes in on the Gun Control argument and boldly asserts that Guns
are here to stay! It gathers collective data from citizens in the U.S. and organize the information
into two different groups. It presents factual evidence for those who are opposed to legally
carrying firearms. It provides several scenarios where citizens who were legally caring prevented
massacres and have deescalated dangerous situations.
Assessment: This source is very useful because it brings to bear the fact that the presence of a
weapon help prevent further deaths and potential deaths in many hostile citations. It comparison
to the other sources, it adds to the overall fact that a Gun cannot operate on its own. It displays
how responsible use of a firearm can be beneficial. This information is reliable because it takes
into consideration National, State, and local data. The source is definitely biased. The goal is to
persuade and inform.
Reflection: This source is overall useful to me because it approaches the subject without the
fear of dodging any potential confrontation. The source is very informative. The aggressive
approach to the topic help shape my understanding of the issue. This source lays the foundation
for my argument it increases the depth of my overall understanding for the use and purpose of a
firearm.

NRA Criticized for not saying more about Philando Castiles death.

Summary: This is about the NRA and its lack of response to and support as it relates to the
shooting of a young black man named Philando Castile, who himself was a licensed gun owner
that was shot and killed by police. The article appears to take place as an interview between an
NRA commentator and a young black man whose 32 years old and possess a concealed license to
carry. This topic takes into consideration the nuances and implications of various different
scenarios that come with carrying, and the effects of racism, suspicious character, and crooked
cops.
Assessment: This is a very useful source because it takes the information from an interview of
an individual with a license to carry who has concerns for his own safety. It explores the multiple
scenarios in which a person could be placed as both the victim and the suspect. This stands out
from the others sources because it dialogues with both sides of the argument. This information is
reliable because of its nature and presentation. I would say that can be seen as subjective and
objective depending on the readers interpretation. Its overall purpose is to inform.
Reflection: This fits in into my research perfectly because it gives objective and subjective
insight to a controversial argument. This source was definitely helpful. This source will
transform my paper by bringing balance. This definitely expands my view, and presents
challenges with some of the implications that come with carry firearm while being in certain
context while of a certain persuasion.

What we can do about Gun Violence

Summary: The main purpose of this article is to seek to implement immediate and practical
policies that will help reduce gun violence, and that can be generally agreed upon by everyone. It
talks about making restrictions and controls for military- styled weapons, and implementing
regulations of purchases by people under 25, and strict penalties for all illegal gun carrying.
Assessment- This source is very helpful and useful. It allows partial and immediate application
that would our overall situation as it relate to this issue. This information is very reliable because
it takes a common sense approach to the issue while considering everyone. Im convinced that
this source will help bring objectivity and balance to my paper, it brings a strong wisdom
element.
Reflection- This brings unity and careful consideration for those who stand on both sides of the
argument. The source is very helpful because its not seeking to choose sides, but offer answers
the will benefit everyone. The source takes a complex topic such as this, and carefully and
critically examine all sides to my make an informed approach to resolving the issue.

Why I cant protect My City from Guns

Summary: This source is about a city official who is trying to care for her city but, faces
continued opposition and the threats of Gun violence that prevent her from doing her job. It takes
into consideration how individuals elevate and flaunt their right to open carry and instead of
using wisdom and being mindful of their environment when it comes to children and other
citizens. The point of the article is to get the city to adhere to reasonable gun regulations.
Assessment: This source is very important because it puts on display those who abuse and
misuse their right to bear arms and open carry. It different from some of my other sources
because it brings attention to those who are can be inconsiderate of others and raises a cause for
concern. It forces you to take accountability and responsibility while exercising your 2nd
amendment rights

Reflection: The source makes a cry out for help as we all live as citizens in this nation to take
responsibility and unction us all to get involved to reduce the potential threats of Gun violence. It
confronts us to bear one another burdens as we try resolve this issue. I can use this to display the
lack of consideration by sometimes citizens and an effort to resolve some the current issues.

Will Dallas Ambush Push Republicans To Act On Gun Control Legislation?

Summary: This article is about the shooting that took place in Dallas and the effects that it
may have on the Republican Party to influence their decisions on Gun Control Legislation. It
takes place with an interview of Democratic Congressman of Georgia John Lewis. He discusses
how he and his other colleagues will continue to demonstrate and pressure republicans until they
make a move.
Assessment: This source maybe useful when making a case for the opposing view, and the
extent thats taken to ensure action. Since its from the opposite side of the argument it brings
diversity to my paper and articulates the positions from both sides. The information is very
reliable because it is a first-hand interview. It is biased, informative and written to persuade.
Reflection: This fits well with my research because it helps articulate the presentation of the
opposing side of the argument. This source can help me bring attention to the concerns of those
who oppose the presumptions of my argument. It helps me better understand what all the
argument implies for each side.

Shaws, Michael There is a Problem Politics, Not Guns, in the United States
This article deals with the political implications and motivations behind Gun laws. It shoots
straight at the heart by taking a look at the State of Chicago and comforts the political climate in
which Gun Violence has thrived. It gives critical insight to the reader about much of the context
of Gun Violence.
This source fits in well with the other sources because it takes a totally different approach to the
argument. It is a very useful resources because it focuses its attention on one aspect or area as
opposed to being more biased and general. This very reliable information because its a case
study. It is biased. The goal was to inform and persuade.
This article fits in well with because it adds diversity as a source, it takes a different approach
and route to dealing with the issue. By specifically focusing on the political aspect of the
problem. It zeros in on one scenario and examines the context, back drop, and factors that
contributes to its outcome. It puts an end to speculation and myths by presenting factual data.
