Beliefs in the son of the God 1

"God is a trinity, Father, Son and Holy Spirit; that Jesus is the son of God and thus unites two natures, divine

and human in one person" 1

Jesus- he was against the Roman Government and his followers believe he came from the dead and they

taught he was the Christ and gave forgiveness for people's sins 1

3. Duties, Dress, Title of Clergy Members:

To become a Christian, one must be Baptized- being immersed in water 3

Be good and go to heaven 3

4. Sacred Texts:

New Testament- the part of the bible specifically for the Christians 1

5. Sacred Sites:

Church of the Holy Sepulcher- also known as Church of the Resurrection, a church in Jerusalem. It is the

place where Jesus was crucified and buried. 5

6. Sacred Rites, Practices, and Procedures :

Orthodox and Catholic:

Sundays are the day that most churches has set aside as a day for communal worship 3

Reading the bible, prayers and sometimes a homily 3

Protestant:

Go to church less frequently 3

At church 3

8. Taboos or Prohibitions on behavior, Food, etc.:

Intoxication 6

Annual festivals are based on the life of Jesus 3:

Ash Wednesday- is a time to prepare and repent 3

Palm Sunday- Jesus' entry into Jerusalem before his death 3

Maundy Thursday- his last meal with his followers 3

Good Friday- His crucifixion 3

Easter- Jesus' resurrection for the dead 3

Christmas- birth of Jesus 3

Two kinds of churches 4:

Episcopal Model- authority resides on a head bishop 4

Congregational Model- authority resides on a single person to be the minister who is chosen by the local

congregation 4

Until the 4th century, Christianity was prohibited 1

17th to the 20th centuries was the European colonialism(Christian Missionaries tries to convert everyone in
the world to Christianity) 2
