I used the keywords mobile technology to find these articles from the EBSCO host
database accessed from the Community College of Baltimore website. I used this database
because it was very simple to get the information I was looking for. The information that was
displayed after I conducted my search through EBSCO host it gave me a lot of pros and cons of
mobile technology. I used MLA format to cite these articles.

The article Half of teens think theyre addicted to their smartphones was about a survey
that involved 1,240 parents and teens regarding their addictions to their mobile devices.
According to article, 80% of teens and 69% of adults check their mobile devices daily. I can
relate to this article because I am addicted to my smart phone. On several occasions I find myself
being rude when I am around people because I cannot stop looking at interesting things on
Facebook or notifications on my phone. Haiis, who is the digital detox expert insinuates that
exercise is the key to breaking the urge of constantly being on mobile devices.
Half of Teens think theyre addicted to their smartphones was written on May 3, 2016.
This article does relate to my topic because it proves the negative effects of mobile technology
based on the statistics provided in the text. According to CNN, The author of this article Kelly
Wallace is an award winning digital journalist and television correspondent. Wallace has the
credentials that make her qualified to write this journal. The results that were stated in the journal
were tested for accuracy during a survey that was conducted with parents and children from ages
12 to 18 years old. The purpose of this article was to inform readers that being addicted to mobile
devices can affect a persons day to day life and everyone around them.

I found google to be a better search engine than Bing because it provided me with more
responses when I researched mobile technology. Google had 773,200,000 more responses than
Bing. Although, Google had more advertisements and was a couple seconds slower I think
having more responses would be beneficial to me when I am conducting research on a particular
topic.

The ease of access of the database on the CCBC website was more difficult than the
article I found on CNN. I searched CNN on Google search engine and I instantly found results
on mobile technology. On the library database I had to access several windows that confused me.
The article Social Behavioral Testing and Brain Magnetic Resonance Imaging in Chicks
Exposed to Mobile Phone Radiation during Development was written on June 10, 2016 and the
journal I found on CNN was written May 3, 2016. Therefore the article on the database is
timelier than the journal I found online.
The database on the CCBC website is more credible than online source I found because
the journals are scholarly. The authority depends on the author and their knowledge. Both of the
articles on mobile technology are credible because the information was proven to be trustworthy.
