CGMW Analytical Figure Drawing part 2 -HANDS/FEET/HEAD/COMPOSITION

Pre-Reqs: Analytical Figure Drawing or a good command of form, perspective, and anatomy.
Materials: Homework can be done in any medium pencil and paper/ or on tablet/photoshop.

Course Description:

This is the second Analytical Figure Drawing class offered through CGMA. As such, this course
builds on the skills and information covered in the initial course, however challenges students to
push those skills through the introduction of additional subject matter. In addition to covering
parts not addressed in the first course (hands, feet, features, and drapery) this course will answer
the basic question of "what to do with the figure?" This question will be put to the student
through lectures on the execution/ use of tone and composition specifically. *DISCLAIMER*:

COURSE OUTLINE
Week 1: Introduction of teacher/ Goals of class/ Review. Lecture will be on the use and
understanding of drapery.
Week 2: Anatomy and Construction of the Hands.
Week 3: Anatomy and Construction of the Feet.
Week 4: Development of the features and overview of the neck and facial anatomy.
Week 5: Intro to Lighting / Adding light and shadow to the face.
Week 6: Lighting the Figure.

Week 7: Composition 1: Structuring the image (composition breakdowns looking at Old


Masters).
Week 8: Composition 2.: Original Arrangements.
