Version 9.02
Performance improvements

A range of improvements have been made to ensure that the application continues to function at an
adequate speed even following prolonged periods of intensive usage. Defects that were impeding the
performance of specific parts of the product have been resolved so as to offer a more responsive
user experience.

Addition data integrity checks

We have extended the CADS RC Check Database command to confirm the integrity of all data shown
within the new v9 schedule. If this audit detects any inconsistencies then it will attempt to
automatically rectify the problem. This extension follows detection of some isolated defects that have
subsequently been resolved in this release.

Compatibility with CADS RC v9.01

This service pack will seamlessly update your current v9.01 installation with no need for any
additional customization. The program will automatically migrate any of your existing configuration
files. CADS RC v9.01 drawings can be opened within v9.02 with no additional considerations.
Drawings produced with v9.02 cannot however be opened within v9.01, so we advise all users to
update to v9.02. The Save As v8.4 feature has been retained so as to offer a complete range of
drawing sharing options.

Auto-combine feature

You can now configure CADS RC to either always combine the schedule or to combine when specific
actions are taken.

MANY MORE
FIXES AND
MINOR
ENHANCEMENTS
HAVE BEEN
MADE!!!

Highlight bars in drawing feature

You can now locate bars in the drawing directly from the schedule. A new Highlight Bars in Drawing
command has been added to the formatted schedule right click menu which will identify the selected
bars within the drawing. This reduces the need to scan for bar labels within the drawing or to use the
CADS RC Select Bar and Highlight Bar commands

You can also select a bar in the drawing and use the right click Highlight Bars in Schedule option to
identify the corresponding lines within the schedule.

Locked issued lines improvements

Having resolved several technical problems we have now set lock issued lines as the default for the
BS4466/8666 schedule revision system. The program now fully supports the combining and
formatting of bars following issues with locked issued lines set.

Improved drawing sheet configuration retention

The way you save your title block configuration has been improved to remove the need to save to a
specific XML file and then to Write Prototype Settings. You are now offered just simple Apply or
Cancel options. Apply will automatically save your title block configuration settings for all future
drawing sessions. Cancel will instruct the program to never query if this block is a title block ever
again.

Osnap fix

Additional checks have been added that should now ensure that OSNAP settings are not repeatedly
reset following use of CADS RC commands or associated functionality.

Automatic checking and updating of V8 DEF files

We have discovered that use of old v8 DEF files with v9 can cause additional performances/stability
issues so a feature has been added that will check the DEF file currently in use and give you the
opportunity to automatically migrate this to be fully compatibility with v9.

ADL (intelligent leader) improvements

If you are a user of the AutoCAD Dimension Leaders (ADL) feature then you will find numerous
improvement to the operation of this feature

Improved defaulting of drawing sheets

All dialogs that offer a selection of drawing sheets will now be defaulted more helpfully. These
improvements should reduce the need to reselect (e.g.) the current drawing sheet when entering the
schedule.

Match bars fix

A defect that resulted in the inappropriate updating of bars marks following use of the match bars
command has been resolved. (e.g. previously if bar marks 05 and 201 could be matched then the
program would inappropriately update both bars to bar mark 201. It now updated both to 05.)

Fix to member and drawing sheet corruption problem

We have resolved a problem where closing AutoCAD from the (x) close button within the top right of
the application could cause errors messages about members and/or drawing sheets to appear.

Header date fields improved

The problem of the header dates fields being overwritten following issues has been resolved. You can
now specify date prepared and date issued in the assurance that this values will be retained
regardless of other operations.

Bar label colour now ByLayer

Bar labels are now appearing with an AutoCAD colour property of ByLayer instead of yellow!

Area detailer improvements (also affecting SMSD users)

The Area Detailer, as also used by the Smart Modeller Slab Detailer (SMSD) has been updated to
more effectively detail complex outlines and to place annotation more clearly. Support for the
improved AutoCAD Dimension Leader (ADL) feature means presentation quality can be achieved
much more quickly.

Many more fixes and minor enhancements have been made!!!

A raft of other fixes and minor improvements will also be included in this release. You can review a
more comprehensive list of fixes and improvements from the installed Release Notes document.
