LDC connedions are made from back panel terminals (53). Appropriale CT converls line cunenl lo 1
Amps. LDC unit dovelops propo(ional vollage, depending on sensing of % R and % X and polarity swilches.
This voltagc is then reclively actded to PT voltage to get tinal sensing voltage.
Required setlings are set from fronl panel.
%R sellilns gives the resislance <trop of % R setting gives reac-tivo drop in the line. Selling of polarily
srvitches develops wtrether to add or substract the drop fiom PT vollage. ln +ve pooition voltage is substtcted
from the PT vollage and in -ve position lhe voltage is added in the PT voltage.

Testing of LDC

a) Feed 1 l0V AC to PT terminals.

b) Keep B VA at 110.
c) Keep dead band at 5 volls.
d) Keep % R and oh X settings to 0olo
e) Keep both the polarity switches to +ve position.
0 Observe thal there are no RAISE or LOWER signals from AVR.
g) ,lncreas o/oR setting to maximum.
h) Observe that LOWER and RAISE indication comes ON.
D Change the position of polarity switches.
t) Observe thal high and lower indication comes on the front panel.
k) Reduce 0,6 R settings to 0%.
l) Set dead band to 2 volts.
