Hiring Committee
Morgan Stanley
1585 Broadway
New York, NY 10036
Dear Hiring Committee:
It would be a great pleasure to be given the opportunity to work with a company as large and
impactful as Morgan Stanley. Morgan Stanleys dedication to their clients needs, as well as
giving back and helping to develop communities resonates with me and ensures that Morgan
Stanley shares some of the same core values as myself. Morgan Stanleys continuing dedication
to being the leader in investment banking throughout the world since its founding in 1935 is also
one of the reasons I am excited to be applying for the position of an investment management
summer analyst as an undergraduate student. My experiences over the past several years,
including working as a deputy clerk, working as a server, and holding leadership positions within
the Chi Phi Fraternity, have strengthened all of the skills and requirements needed to excel in this
position.
I am currently pursing two Bachelor of Business Administration degrees in accounting and
finance. These programs provide me with the knowledge and skills needed to excel at Morgan
Stanley. I have an understanding of complex accounting processes as well as an understand of
the financial needs of businesses and individuals.
Last summer, and the summer before that, I worked for the Polk County Clerk of Courts as a
Deputy Clerk. This experience taught me the skills and responsibility necessary to handle a large
workload while staying well connected to what was going on around me in the office. Currently,
I am employed as a server at Nineteen, the restaurant inside the clubhouse at TPC Sawgrass in
Ponte Vedra, Florida. Through serving, I have learned how to work well in a team as well as
excellent communication and personal skills.
I am very excited about moving forward into the interview process for this position at Morgan
Stanley. Please email me at matthewdurden@outlook.com or call me at (863) 510-6050 to set up

an interview within the next two weeks, as I will be in New York and available for an interview. I
will follow up within the next several days.
Sincerely,
Matthew Durden
