Last week we looked at an enemy that is an advisor to other enemies, that is

causing us to move out from under the blessings and protection of YHVH, and
then be cursed. This enemy is a family member, that came into being as a
result of our sins and the sins of our fathers.
The four prophecies Balaam spoke over Israel in last weeks Torah Portion, are
the four stages Israel will go through. The first Prophecy is the first stage that
includes the Wilderness experience, and the fourth prophecy is about the
Messiah that is coming. YHVH chose to reveal this four staged plan through His
enemy, Balaam, hitting a perfect shot with a crooked stick. Even if the enemy
is against you, YHVH will use your enemy within that situation to reveal His plan
and Himself to you. The only thing you have to do is to ask the right questions
when you are in that situation.

Israels Harlotry in Moab

Before we start with this weeks reading, we have to take a step back and cover
the background of this event where Phinehas is being honoured by YHVH, after
he stepped in to stop the curse from destroying Israel.
Num 25:6-9 And indeed, one of the children of Israel came and
presented to his brtheren a Midianite woman in the sight of Moses and in
the sight of all the congregation of the children of Israel,
who were weeping at the door of the Tabernacle of meeting. 7 Now when
Phinehas the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, saw it, he rose
from among the congregation and took a javelin in his hand; 8 and he
1

went after the man of Israel into the tent and thrust both of them
through, the man of Israel, and the woman through her body. So the
plague was stopped among the children of Israel. 9 And those who died in
the plague were twenty-four thousand.
24,000 died of a plague and the people stood and wept at the entrance of the
Tent of meaning, because of the immorality with the Moabite women. Pinchas
took action and killed both with a spear and then the plague stopped. By doing
this, he broke about 15 Commandments normally would have dealt with
situations like this, and yet, YHVH rewarded with the same honour He gave
Abraham, declaring Pinchas righteous. There was no hearing, no witnesses, the
method of death was supposed to be by stoning, not a spear.
Q What is going on, why did YHVH honour the breaking of these
Commandments and honour the man who did so?
At face value there is insufficient scripture to really say what happened that day,
but he definitely broke some Commandments to fulfil another. The other aspect
of this situation is the act that was done was so grievous, and its consequences
so severe, that it had to be dealt with immediately, not allowing a trail and
following the stipulated protocols.
Pinchas cxnyp means face of trust and protection and mouth of brass. He
was the son of Elazar rzila that means help of Elohim and court of
Elohim. We get an idea looking at the meaning of the names, giving us an
indication of the function or role Pinchas played, as one of the Levites. To
explain this better, we have to colour it in with the help of an example.
Example: Within any organisation or Company
today, you will find their rules and these rules
are within your contract that allows you to be
and stay employed. You have to conduct
yourself within these guidelines and follow
certain protocols to perform your role within that
Organisation. These rules normally apply to
everybody working for that Institution or
Company.
Within the same Organisation, you will find Emergency procedures that are
different to the standard day-to-day regulations, that are executed only in an
emergency situation by trained people. Phinehas had particular attributes
having a mouth of brass, linking to the Brazen Altar and brass indicating
judgement. He was the son of Elazar that means Court of Elohim, that implies
that he had a particular office within the order of the Priesthood and was
trained to execute the emergency procedures whenever a life-threatening
situation presents itself and had to be dealt with caution, speed and diligence in
order to save and protect the lives of the people. The situation that was at hand
was a plague that threatened the people and the cause of the threat had to be
dealt with immediately, which he did, and was declared righteous, or in other
words, executed the emergency procedures successfully.

It seems like he was breaking the Commandments, but the emergency

procedures took preference in that situation and after being dealt with, reverted
back to the day-to-day Commandments of the Torah. This means that he did
not break any Commandment under the adverse situation.

Following Protocols
Before getting your spear out to sort someone because of something they did
that you think is wrong, you have to have the authority to act, like we just
discussed, and you have to consult with the Emergency Coordinator before
you act, which is your Father. We find this reading Psalm 106 where Phinehas
consulted with YHVH before he acted. This gives us the full picture of what
happened that day.
Ps 106: 28-31 They joined themselves also to Baal of Peor, and ate
sacrifices made to the dead. 29 Thus they provoked Him to anger with
their deeds, And the plague broke out among them. 30 Then Phinehas
stood up and intervened, and the plague was stopped. 31 And that was
accounted to him for righteousness to all generations forevermore.
We are so eager to get up and fight the Devil and sort out the enemy or fellow
believers we think are wicked, based on what Phineas did, stabbing them to
death with your tongue. But when you read what Psalm 106 reveals about the
situation, you see something completely different. The word intervened is the
Hebrew word palal llp that means to intercede and to pray. Pinchas
prayed and interceded before he jumped up to get his spear to kill the enemy.
This is the same concept we discussed in last weeks Torah Portion, to consult
with your Father before you go out and act on your own accord. It might be
YHVH opposing you through one of His Angels, and you think it is the Devil.
Another insight is that YHVH appointed someone like Pinchas within Israel to
act in the event of an emergency that is life threatening. In the same way, will
the Great Tribulation be such an event, where YHVH will appoint 144,000
people like Pinchas, to take the lead and protect the people during that life
threatening situation.

The Covenant of Peace

Num 25:10-12 Then YHVH spoke to Moses, saying: 11 Phinehas the son
of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, has turned back My wrath from
the children of Israel, because he was zealous with My zeal among them,
so that I did not consume the children of Israel in My zeal. 12 Therefore
say, Behold, I give to him My covenant of peace; 13 and it shall be to him
and his descendants after him a covenant of an everlasting priesthood,
because he was zealous for his Elohim, and made atonement for the
children of Israel.
YHVH gave Phinehas the Covenant of Peace or Shalom, the word everybody is
familiar with. So what is so special about this phrase Covenant of Peace win
relation to the zeal of Phinehas? This is found within the word shalom and
particularly, the vav inside shalom.

Broken Vav: In the Torah Scroll, the word

shalom has a broken vav.
Q What is YHVH trying to teach us?
The first reason that jumps to mind is the
shalom or peace is broken because of the sins they committed at Ball Peor,
where they broke the Covenant of YHVH, causing the peace to turn into a
plague.
Shalom ,vls means safe, well, happy, friendly; welfare, i.e. health,
prosperity, favour, friend, good health, to prosper, rest, salute, to be whole.
If you lose Shalom, you lose all these things that encompass everything of what
it means to be blessed, that is better defined as being cursed. Just like cold is
created in the absence of heat and darkness exists in the absence of light, so
are curses created in the absence of Shalom.
Shalam comes from the root word shalam that means to be safe (in mind,
body or estate); to be completed; to be friendly; to make amends, to finish, full,
to give again, make good, (re-) pay make restitution, restore, to give a reward.
This word is first found in Scripture in Gen 44:4 where Joseph ordered that their
money be placed back in the bags of grain they bought. Thereafter he
confronted them asking; why have you rewarded (shalam) evil for good.
Spiritual Insight: We will receive a reward from YHVH and He expects a
reward from us in return. His reward towards us is to be blessed (shalom), to
be with Him and to become like Him, and ultimately live with Him in the
Promised Land. In the story of Joseph and his brothers, as seen from a
spiritual point of view, we see YHVH bestowing blessings upon His people,
even if they do not really know Him. The believers are accused of taking
things that did not belong to them (money in bags), and accused of rewarding
YHVH with evil, in exchange for the good He rewards them with.
Q - What is the reward you will give Him in return?
These two concepts of good and evil are found in the Tree of Knowledge
where we only reflect back the evil we partook of, and not the good.
Everything comes from YHVH and whatever we give back to Him, we have
received from Him in the first place and belongs to Him anyway. The issue
YHVH has with His people, is that we only give the evil or opposing part back
to Him, reacting by complaining about what we perceive as evil and bad, and
not seeing the attracting part within that same situation, that draws us closer to
Him. This results in us pushing ourselves away from YHVH by being drawn
towards the good we expect from the outcome (money bags). This means that
we only focus on the outcome we expect YHVH need to bring, focussing
outwards, instead of learning from the situation what we need to change inside
of us, focussing inwards.
The reward YHVH expects from us can only spring forth from a situation that we
perceive as evil or bad. The reward He expects from you is to embrace the
bad situation and see what you can learn from it, but most importunately, what
you can change about yourself after observing your response to that situation.
We will now look a bit deeper into the forces at play that is designed to change
you within any adverse situation you may face.
4

Personal Application: The broken vav represents man that

is broken and that man is you. In order to build you up,
YHVH has to break your strong will (Balaams donkey). In
order to fill you, He has to empty you to make room for His
revelations of Truth. These breaking and emptying
experiences are not pleasant and are initiated as soon as
you enter a situation that you perceive as bad or
uncomfortable. We sometimes perceive situations like
these as being under attack by the enemy, rather than
being opposed by YHVHs Left Hand. He allows these
situations in order to close the gap that exists between us
and Him. Remember that there is no greater power or
authority greater than Him, and everything you perceive as coming from the
enemy, is YHVH in disguise. This opposing force needs to be harnessed
and understood and incorporated in our perception of the Creator in order to
understand Him fully.
The left hand that rejects, is seen as correction, and the right hand that
attracts, is seen as revelation. These two forces are pushing and pulling
towards the right or spiritual, where YHVH is. The opposition you perceive
as bad, that exists in the physical in the form of difficult situations or
circumstances, creates a desire for the revelation of the truth and wisdom
gained from this situation. In the process of searching this revelation that is
pulling you, you will learn more about YHVH and yourself. This pulling
force is also known as the desire to find out more about YHVH and His
Truth, when facing these situations. This desire pulls and attracts you to the
right, closer to Him. This desire towards YHVH is the reward He receives
from us, in return for His Shalom. Like any good relationship that consists of
giving and receiving from both parties, so must you strive to give back to
YHVH by creating the right desires within yourself towards Him.
YHVH is not only hidden in the physical, but in the spiritual as well, and your
goal should always be to find Him in everything, especially when things are
perceived as bad, because then, He is the closest to you. The only thing
that can stand in the way of this desire towards YHVH, is doubt, that is the
lack of faith. Doubt can cause you to only focus on the left hand experience
and all its pain, that will ultimately push you further away from YHVH or
cause you to complain.
On the other hand, doubt is the opposing force inside of you that stimulates
the process of challenging everything you believe, that will ultimately
cleanse and refines your faith. Doubt, therefore, is an internal bad
situation within the external bad situation which are both left-hand forces
that opposes your character and your beliefs, and these challenges will
result in a better you if you can stay sober and ask the right questions. These
external and internal challenges break you down that results in a broken
vav that ultimately leads to YHVHs Shalom.

Lord of the gap.

What is interesting is that the place they
worshipped the false gods was at Baal Peor
that means lord of the gap. The enemy
wants to increase the gap between you and
YHVH and tries to flip the forces at work so
that he can increase the gap between you
and YHVH within any bad situation you face.
The only way to do this is to push with the
right hand rather than to pull, and to pull with the left hand rather than to
push. This pulling force will now draw you to the left that is towards the
physical outcome you desire, that will change the situation so that you can
experience the good again, or what you perceive as pleasant.
Spiritual Application: These are people who are believers in YHVH, but
they want YHVH to change the situation instead of having a desire inside of
them to be changed or to know Him better. This desire is the basis of
prayer, and your focus will determine what type of prayer you pray within a
difficult situation. We will look in more detail into effective prayer in the next
section.
The ultimate goal of the lord of the gap is to draw you towards the left, that is
the flesh and push you away from the right, that is spiritual, thus creating a
larger and larger gap between you and YHVH. When the enemy opposes you,
he will add pain to the spiritual and make you see the pleasures of the
physical. When YHVH opposes you He will add pain to the physical (situations)
and draw you towards the peace, that is pleasant in the spiritual. The fact is
that you are always opposed, you are pushed and drawn to the left or to the
right, but you have the choice who you will allow to oppose you, YHVH or the
enemy.
James 1:2-5 count it all joy when you fall into various trials, 3 knowing
that the testing of your faith produces patience. 4 But let patience
have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking
nothing.
James knew that if the flesh suffers, the spirit will be enhanced and drawn
closer to YHVH, closing the gap between us and Him in order to know Him
and ultimately, become like Him. The larger the gap, the more pressure is
required to break the binding power and the more pain you experience in that
situation. Remember, opposing forces in your life are the friction or traction
you need to move you in the right direction.

Effective Prayer
We learned from Psalm 106 that Pinchas prayed or interceded prior to taking
action. We generally do not consult YHVH in situations where we are under
attack by the enemy, except for maybe to ask YHVH to remove or change the
situation.
Q What is the right thing to pray for when facing an opposing situations?

All of us faces situations that can be

perceived, either as positive or
negative. When face a negative
situation, we generally ask YHVH to
change the situation, or we rebuke the
enemy and bind the forces at hand.
We never think that He is in control of
all situations, good and bad and we are
actually asking Him to change.
The illustration on the right illustrates someone, when facing a bad situation, he
asks YHVH to reveal Himself within that situation. He also ask YHVH to reveal
what is wrong with him, things that might have caused this negative situation. In
this example, the person asks YHVH to change him, and not the situation, so
that he can see the good in that situation.
Q - Which one of the two is the best way to pray, ask YHVH to change the
situation, or ask YHVH to change you?
If you choose the latter, you understand that YHVH allows these situations so
that He can change you and not to harm you. The second prayer has a better
chance of being answered than the first prayer.
Negative situations create a desire inside of you, wanting to know YHVH within
the situation. This desire is the energy or essence of what prayer is all about,
that longing to communicate and to know that YHVH is the only One that can
help or provide within this situation. This is the desire that is created by the left
hand of YHVH, what we perceive as bad situations. Prayers prayed with this
desire are answered and very powerful because you are praying in line with the
will of YHVH and His will is to change you. He wants to do a work within you
more than providing for you, and the desire and longing for Him in your heart is
an indication that His work is done.

Yshua is the Broken Vav

The vav represents a man and the Covenant of Peace is
established by a broken vav that is Messiah. Yshua is broken for
us so that the plague can stop before it wipes out all of humanity.
This means that YHVHs peace comes to us through the broken
body of Messiah. We find in in Luke 22:19 where Yshua
explained the Passover symbolism to His Disciples saying, this
is my body that is broken for you.
In this Torah Portion, we see a righteous man taking a spear, driving it
through an unrighteous man, bringing peace or shalom to the people again.
When Yshua died we see an unrighteous man, taking a spear and driving it
through a righteous Man, that brought peace to man, establishing His
Covenant of Peace with all of mankind. When Pinchas used his spear, he not
only impaled a man, but a woman as well.
Q Where is the woman symbolised in the death of Messiah when He was
pierced?
We find the answer when we connect it to the time after the birth of Yshua in
recorded in the Book of Luke.
7

Luke 2:25-33 And behold, there was a man in Jerusalem whose

name was Simeon, and this man was just and devout, waiting for the
Consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was upon him.26 And it had
been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not see death
before he had seen the Lords Christ.27 So he came by the Spirit into the
temple. And when the parents brought in the Child Jesus, to do for Him
according to the custom of the law, 28 he took Him up in his arms and
blessed God and said: 29 Lord, now You are letting Your servant
depart in peace, According to Your word; 30 For my eyes have seen
Your salvation (Yshua) 31 Which You have prepared before the face of
all peoples,
32 A

light to bring revelation to the Gentiles, And the glory of Your

people Israel. 33 And Joseph and His mother marvelled at those things
which were spoken of Him. 34 Then Simeon blessed them, and said to
Mary His mother, Behold, this Child is destined for the fall and rising
of many in Israel, and for a sign which will be spoken against 35 (yes, a
sword will pierce through your own soul also), that the thoughts of
many hearts may be revealed.
Zimri was of the tribe of Simeon, and that was the name of the old man who
prophesied over Yshua. At the end, we see a prophecy he spoke over Mary,
that a sword will pierce through her soul. This is exactly what happened
when they pierced Yshua to show that He is dead, at that moment a sword
pierced her soul just as it was prophesied by Simeon and prophetically
portrayed by this Torah Portion Pinchas.
Q Why are the events in Numbers not describing the events exactly as when
Yshua died?
Spiritual Insight: The work of the Messiah is the work of restoration and
restoring that which have been corrupted by sin. The unrighteous Simeon
(Simeonite), namely Zimri, became the righteous Simeon in the time of
Yshua. The unrighteous man that died depicted Yshua who became
unrighteous by taking the sin of the world upon Himself. The unrighteous
woman that died was restored by the righteous woman, Mary, whose soul
was pierced. The exchange of evil for good took place just as we saw in
the prophetic picture of Joseph and His brothers. We receive His Shalom or
good in exchange for our sin, that evil. We receive His life while He died
for us, exchanging our death for His Life, through His Covenant of Peace.

Removing the Vav

The word Shalom ,vls is Shin-Lamed-Vav- Mem and the
Covenant exists because of this Shalom, making it a Covenant of
Peace. We know the vav is man and cannot imagine the Covenant
without us because the Covenant is for our benefit. What if we
remove the vav or man from Shalom, will this Covenant still exist
and have the potential to include man? When you remove the vav,
it still reads shalom and has the same meanings.
Removing the vav, removing the self. It is the desire that is created within us
that allows the spiritual to flow into the physical, into our lives and will fill
8

every hollow or empty part within us that is related to that specific desire.
When you have a full vav, then you have lost the potential or desire to receive
from YHVH, and is an indication of pride in your life.
When you have a broken vav, you start the process of creating the desire in
you, the desire for YHVH and His ways, dying to self completely. This is the
state to be in that will give you the best chance to be fully restored into His
Image and likeness.

Crushing the Head of the Serpent

The daughters of Midian and Moab camped at Baal Peor
who worshipped a Canaanite god that stole the glory
away from YHVH, pretending to be the husband of
Israel. Lets look at this scenario with the help of an
analogy. Imagine a newlywed couple in their house a
with friends they invited over. Out of the blue, a strange
man walks in and put his arm around the bride and
whisper in her ear, tonight I will be your husband.
Imagine the offence and anger the real husband will
experience that will motivate him to take control of the
situation. He might get up and attack the stranger to the
point of death, and everybody at the party will say, righteous and true is this
husband, who guarded and protected his bride.
The Midianites tactic was to set up their tents and have a feast, then inviting the
sons of Israel to join in. Their main aim was to target the leadership, one of the
leaders of Israel to partake in these relations, and that is why they targeted one
of the leaders from the Tribe of Simeon, Zimri, that means song, the son of
Salu ylc that means perfect. The enemy knows the power of music and will
use it even today to lead people astray. Salus name consists of two parts sal

lc that means, willow twig and yod that means hand. Sal is first used in
Gen 40:17 where Joseph interpreted the dream of the baker. The birds came
and ate the bread from the willow twig basket and that prophesied his death
as well as the death of Messiah. Yod is first found in Scripture in Gen 25:26
where it describes the birth of Jacob and Esau, with Jacobs hand (yad) on the
heel of Esau, linking to the prophecy spoken over Eve and the Serpent
(nachash) in Gen 3:15 saying; you shall crush his head, and he shall bruise
your heel.
Remember from last week, Balaam used enchantments (nachash) that gave
him his spiritual abilities and the plan to mix Midian and Israel was also the
Serpents idea. Zimri was a rebellious leader, just like Korah, that was under the
authority or rosh (head) of the Serpent, that led YHVHs people into this act of
immorality, that is why YHVH judged Israel and Zimri so severely.
Zimri, was a leader or head, that is rosh in Hebrew, and his rosh or head
was crushed that day when he was impaled by Phinehas, just like Gen 3:15
predicted. This event then became the prophecy that Yshua fulfilled when He
was impaled on the Cross, and the day when the Messiah crushed the rosh
or head (authority) of the Serpent, as foretold in Gen 3:15.

Pinchas impaled two people in the act, Zimri as well as a

Midianite woman named Cozbi, and her name means lies.
She was the daughter of Zur who was the chief or head over
the Midianites, and his name means rock.
Zur is the word stoor rvo that comes from the root word
stur that also means rock. That is found in Exo 17:6 where
YHVH commanded Moses to smite the rock to provide water
for Israel in the Wilderness. This happened after the people
complained and threatened to stone Moses if they do not get
water. Stoned is the word sakal lqc that means stoning
and to cast stones. This is first found in Scripture in Exo 8:26
where Moses told Pharaoh to let his people go but he offered
that they sacrifice in Egypt. Moses replied and said that if they
do that, the Egyptians will see it as an abomination of the Egyptians that will
be sacrificed and probably stone them. This means that the Passover lamb is
an abomination or offensive to the Egyptians.
Later on in Exodus 17 where tsoor or rock (Zur) is found, we find the word
eben, that means stone. These are the stones they placed under Moses arms
so that they could win the battle against the Amalekites.
Putting it all together: Zur represents the leader or head (rosh) of the
Midianites that is represented by the Rock that Moses (Torah/Truth) smote with
his staff (similar to spear). Smite is the word nakah that means to smite, to
beat, stripes.
Then there is a stone that is cast from above, (sakal) and a
stone that supports from below (eben). These two stones, one
from above and one from below is in the context of smiting the
rock or enemy. What do these stones represent?
The two stones represent the winepress, and the rock represents
the place of threshing out the harvest, separation the grain from
the chaff, both symbols an indication of YHVHs judgement. This
prophetic picture is supported by prophecy in Daniel 2:34-35
where a stone will come to destroy the statue, representing the
political system and leaders under the authority of the Serpent.
Stone or eben ]ba is made up of two words, av that means
Father and ben that means Son, showing us that the stone, the combination
of the Father and the Son, will execute His judgement.
These two stones of the winepress are the instruments that will break the
vav in YHVHs people in the Wilderness prior to His Coming.
Crushing the head of the Serpent: Zur was the father of Cozbi (lies) and the
spear that went through Cozbi and the rock that is smitten is an indication of the
cursing of the head of the Serpent (Zur) and the destroying of his lies (Cozbi),
when Yshua died during His First Coming. Yshua became the serpent on the
pole, taking mans sin upon Himself, and became the Rock that was smitten
with stripes. When this happen, the plague stopped, and everybody who looks
upon Him will be able to enter this Covenant of Peace (Shalom).
10

This makes this Torah Portion and the story of Pinchas, Zimri and Cozbi so
profound, revealing all the spiritual insights and prophetic significance, pointing
to Messiahs work during His First and Second Comings prophetically. Yshua
was impaled and beaten with stripes, and He is the thing rock as well as the
stone that will judge the nations at the end of time.

Covenant of Peace Broken in the End Times

We find another insight looking at the broken vav and that is the symbolism of
the breaking of the Covenant of Peace at Baal Peor. This place is found later
on in Scripture in Hosea chapter 9 and confirms the breaking of this Covenant
of Peace, but this time, in the context of the end times.
Hos 9:10 I found Israel like grapes in the wilderness; I saw your
fathers As the firstfruits on the fig tree in its first season. But they went to
Baal Peor, And separated themselves to that shame; They became an
abomination like the thing they loved.
The only tribe mentioned here is Ephraim who returned to Egypt (sin &
bondage). This is a prophetic picture of the believers in Messiah (Ephraim) who
will go back to sin and bondage through the influence of corrupt Prophets,
drawn in under their entrapments by the things they love (fleshly desires).
Hos 9:3,8-9 They shall not dwell in YHVHs
land, But Ephraim shall return to Egypt, and shall
eat unclean things in Assyria. 8 The watchman of
Ephraim is with my Elohim; But the prophet is a
fowlers snare in all his waysEnmity in the
house of his Elohim. 9 They are deeply corrupted,
as in the days of Gibeah. He will remember their
iniquity; He will punish their sins.
These are believers in Messiah who are lowered into
the traps by their own desires, eating unclean things, entrapped by the words of
false prophets and teachers and warned more than once in the NT but people
still follow their own ways. May YHVH have grace upon us and help us not to be
entrapped by the tactics of Balaam and the venom of the Serpent.

Moedim - Daily, Weekly, Monthly and Yearly Cycles

Within ancient Israel, all the Appointed Times or
Festivals, including the Sabbath were based upon the
cycles of the moon. The moon cycle begins after a
dark moon, starting with the New Moon as soon as
the first sliver appears. This is also known as the birth
of the moon, and the Sages even go to say that the
moon is being born again. Connecting this concept
with the Moedim means that those who follow the
Moedim are born again with each new cycle, within
the area of their lives YHVH is dealing with, regarding
the topic and content that is revealed during that cycle.
You start each week with a new Torah Portion, and just like the moon shows its
first light, you start to get new revelation that addresses some area in your life.
11

The moon goes to its fullness after 15 days and then starts to wean. This shows
us that, when after receiving a revelation or truth, you will go into testing
phase, to ensure that truth you received, will be embedded and become part of
you so that your faith can grow and become stronger after every cycle. It is like
a flight simulator where you learn to fly, and you can only be as good as your
test results indicate. This indicates that we will go through a continual
revelation and testing cycle every week, month and year, if you submit to
YHVHs cycles called Moedim.
The Sages taught from their Ancient Scripture studies (before Yshuas time),
that the cycle of the moon has prophetic significance regarding the starting of
the light on the 1st day, and then reaching its fullness on the 15th day, then
weaning down to a dark moon with no light, on the 30th day. The first half of this
cycle of the moon, indicates 15 generations that started with Abraham and
ended with Solomon. From this they teach that revelation or truth began with
Abraham, and the light (truth) was its brightest in the time of Solomon.
After Solomon, the Kings of Israel began to wean until Hezekiah, compromising
the truth until there was no light left. This was when the light vanished
completely after 15 days or generations. Israel followed the moon calendar that
started every month with a new moon and in the same way followed the light of
the moon over 30 generations.
This teaching was known in the time of Yshua and we find traces of this in the
Book of Matthew. He recorded the genealogy of Yshua, starting with Abraham,
and then ends with David, 14 generations later (Solomon was number 15 = full
moon). Then from David, he counted 14 generations to Babylon, that is the
dark moon or dark time in the history of Israel. Then he counted 14
generations from Babylon to Yshua, Who correlates with a full moon again.
Q - Why did Matthew use 14 generations instead of the 15 generations taught
by the Sages?
He based his teaching on the number 14 because of the symbolism of Yshua,
being the son of David. Yshua is a King like David and that is why Matthew link
the cycle to the number 14. David dvd (dalet - vav - dalet) that is; 4 + 6 + 4 =
14. This shows us that Yshua is revealed as the next son of David, as well as
the next Solomon. Yshua died on the 14th of Nissan, that is the day prior to
the full moon, starting the Feast of Unleavened Bread on Nissan 15, where His
light shines the brightest. Even Yshua is revealed by the cycles of the moon as
well as the Moedim, and that is why it is important for us as followers of Him, to
follow these cycles so that we can walk in His footsteps, so to speak, in order
to become like Him.
