Triac Dimmer Switch Circuit

Circuit:

Materials Used:

BT 138 Triac
Diac
15 watts bulb 220v
Variable Resistor 100k
220 k Resistor
6.8 k Resistor
1 k Resistor

How does it work?

Note: (Functions of Triac and Diac)

In our circuit, the triac has been utilized for
controlling the intensity of light. When AC mains is fed to
the above circuit, as per the setting of the potentiometer,
C2 charges fully after a particular delay providing the
necessary firing voltage to the diac. The diac conducts and
triggers the triac into conduction, however this also
discharges the capacitor whose charge reduces below the
diacs firing voltage. Due to this, the diac stops
conducting and so does the triac. This happens for each

cycle of the mains AC sine wave signal, which cuts it into

discrete sections, resulting in well tailored lower voltage
output.

The Night-Lite Using SCR AC Source

Circuit:

Materials Used:

Silicon-Controlled Rectifier (SCR)

LDR-Light Dependent Resistor
2.2 M Resistor
4.7 M Resistor
100 k Variable Resistor
15 watt bulb ,220 V

How does it work?

A night-lite turns off when the ambient light in the room
reach a certain level. The way the circuit works is, the
Light Dependent Resistor (LDR) robs the SCR of gate voltage
when the light is bright. This is because the resistance
across the LDR (in bright light) is low. The lamp turns off
when the photo resistor (LDR) has a resistance of about
10K.

Relay Circuit
Circuit:

Materials Used:

Relay(SPDT) SL 100
LDR
BC 107
100 k preset/ variable resistor
1 k resistor- 3 pcs
230 V lamp/bulb

How does it work?

The circuit above is that of a street light that
automatically switches on when the night falls and turns
off when the sunrises. The circuit uses a light dependent
resistor (LDR) to sense the light. When there is light, the
resistance of LDR will be low. So the voltage drop across
POT will be high. This keeps the transistor Q1 on. The
collector of Q1 (BC 107) is coupled to base of Q2(SL 100).
So Q2 will be off and so do the relay. The bulb will remain
off. When the night falls, the resistance of LDR increases
to make the voltage across the POT to decrease below 0.6 V.

This makes transistor Q1 off which in turn makes Q2 on. The

relay will be energized and the bulb will glow.

Running Lights
Circuit:

Materials Used:

Bt136-600e Triac - 3pcs.

NE555
CD4017 Decade Counter
Bc547 (Transistors) - 3pcs.
Bulb with socket, 3pcs.
Diode
Resistors
Capacitor

How does it work?

The 555 IC gives constant pulses to the CD 4017 a
decade counter and in every pulse given by the 555 timer,
the output will shift from Q0-Q1, then Q1-Q2, then Q2-reset
back to Q0. When Q0 is high L1 will light. When Q1 is high
L2 will light. When Q2 is high L3 will light.

Forward-Reverse of Motor and Relay in PLC

Program:

Materials Used:

PLC Controller
PLC Program
Dynamo

Description:
If the switch l01 is on, the motor will activate in a
process of forward-bias then T1 will open. If the switch l02 is
on the T2 will close.

Transducer (infrared)
Circuit:

Materials Used:

Resistor 470
Variable Resistor
Transistor
Photo Diode
7805
Copper wires

How does it work?

In this circuit we used Photodiode as our transducer.
As we all know Photodiode is an electronic device that
detects infrared lights and then convert it into an
electrical signal, when the electrical signal from the
photodiode is supplied to the transistor which triggers the
LED to light. Potentiometer is used to adjust the
sensitivity of the photodiode regarding distance of the
source of the infrared light.

Running Lights using PLC

Program:

Materials Used:

Bulb and socket, 3 sets

PLC controller
PLC program

How does it work?

Just switch on I01 and the program will run, and the light
will start running.

Automation (Parking Lot Indicator)

Circuit:

Material Used:

470 - 3 pcs
2 k - 3 pcs
LDR 3 pcs
LED 3 pcs
Transistor 3 pcs

How does it work?

We use this circuit as a parking lot indicator, it
indicates whether there is still a space for parking inside
a parking light. LDR function as light detector and we will
use a laser to give light to the LDR, whenever there is a
car that park, the light from the laser will be block and
the LED light will glow to indicate that there is a car
parking. Until all light will glow and indicate that there
is no room for parking.
