If Jose Rizal did not aspire for Philippine Independence, why then is he
considered as the national hero of the Philippines? Does Jose Rizal deserve to
be considered our national hero?

Jose Rizal may not hope for our national independence, but he has the
capacities of being a national hero. Although Rizal didnt wish for our liberty
from the Spaniards, he gave his best to protect us from discrimination and
inequity. Jose Rizal was considered as one of the greatest heroes today. Jose
Rizal truly deserves the title of being a national hero. Hes not only a great
hero; he has traits that proved his valiant endeavors to his motherland. His
immense care for his country and its people became a symbol of his own
legacy. Rizal didnt fight just for the sake of his popularity and fame but for
his own country which he loved with his pure heart and soul.

Rizal didnt fought using swords and armors rather he fought through
his knowledge and wisdom. He deserves to be considered as our national
hero because he was able to leave a legacy to the future generation by being
a good example to Filipinos. Rizal is an epitome and an icon of nationalism
because he did a great part in conquering the rights of the Filipinos against
the cruelty of the Spanish in our country. Even though he died not getting our
independence from the Spaniards, he still had proven himself to every
Filipino through opening the Filipinos eyes to perceive the truth and know
what is right.

Jose Rizal truly deserves to be called a national hero. In comparing his

life to Andres Bonifacio, Rizal is way better to be a national hero. We can see
how their lives differ from one another. Being a national hero should have the
value of a great influence, and I can see that Rizal is more influential than
Bonifacio. Rizal was indeed an exceptional Filipino where hes very much
worthy to be chosen as a hero. Jose Rizal got the title because he fought for
sovereignty in a silent yet influential way. He is a very good illustration and
an inspiration to all of us, most specially to u, students because of his
intelligence and bravery to fight for his own country.
