Abstract - The gut microbiome of the sea turtle Caretta caretta has been explored by 16S rRNA
metagenomic analysis. Results have shown the prevalence of Firmicutes and the presence of taxa known to
be involved in human gut nutrient assimilation as Blautia and of marine free-living taxa (Marinobacter)
