MINES
MINEFIELD

This option gives you the choice of:

- 1 large minefield of 6 Mine tokens + 2 Mine tokens (Decoy),
OR
- 2 smaller minefields of 3 Mine tokens + 1 Mines token (Decoy) each.

It is not possible to reveal a Mine token possessing a X combat bonus

against the moving unit type.
It is possible that no Mine token is revealed.
The revealed Mine tokens are left on the terrain tiles.
In order to resolve movement through a minefield, the unit owner rolls
1 die.
To that result, he adds the combat bonus, indicating on each Mine token
taken into account (1 per space), corresponding to the moving unit type
(Side defense value for heavy vehicles).
When the result is equal or greater than to the defense value of the unit
in question, the latter takes 1 hit and 1 Suppressed token, as shown
below.
The defense bonus provided by terrain and terrain overlays is not added
to the unit defense value.

You can deploy a mine token up to 3 interspaces ahead of

your deployment zone. Deploy them facedown with the values
hidden.
Mine tokens are deployed on interspaces (inside houses included).
Each Mine token must be adjacent to at least 1 other Mine token
belonging to the same minefield.

IN THE MIDDLE OF THE MINEFIELD

When a unit moves in a minefield and after the unit finishes its
movement, the minefield owner can reveal Mine tokens in relation to
the number of minefield spaces covered by the unit.
For each covered space, 1 Mine token adjacent to this space is revealed
or chosen, if already revealed. If more than one unrevealed Mine token
are present, no more than 1 is revealed.
The Mine token chosen for each space of movement is the
token possessing the best combat bonus against the moving
unit of all Mine tokens adjacent to the covered space.
In the situation where no Mine token has a combat bonus against the
moving unit type (X or no combat bonus), it is possible to reveal a
Mine token (Decoy) from the Mine tokens adjacent to the covered
space.

In this example, the Fire Team unit crosses 2 mined spaces
and ends his movement in a third.
The first 2 spaces are adjacent to 2 Mine tokens, but one of them
is an Antitank mine and is not counted or revealed.
On the third space, a Mine token has already been revealed
during a previous movement.
Once his movement is finished, the American player rolls 1 die
and adds combat bonus of Mine tokens taken into account.
The unit takes 1 hit and 1 Suppressed marker.
On a result of 1, the unit takes no hit at all and you must discard 1 Mine
token. This Mine token must be one of those taken into account for the
dice roll. The player who placed the minefield chooses which one to
discard (it can be a Decoy).
A unit with the Engineer special ability can try to sweep an area.
Instead of a Move action or a Fire action, with an Order token or
during the Supply phase, the unit adjacent to Mine tokens can
roll a die. On a result of 1, the unit suffers a hit. On any other result,
discard all the adjacent Mine tokens.
The Engineer special ability does not protect units against mines.
